Very cool bike; if I ever get a different grocery store bike I'm gonna look into these dutch bikes. That Gazelle bike is so pretty too.
Seems it would be tough still getting the frock around the funky top bars (what do you call them when they cross like that?)
Guy on our ride today was saying Trek now has a commuter line wiht everything enclosed. Not sure they're going to have the skirt guard / frock guard / coat guard 'cause our culture prob'ly isn't there yet :)
He also said (he works at our LBS) that yes, the Gazelle or the Treks in question ares a bit hard to work at because you have to take off the skiirt guard and other stuff to get to the innards, but basically you don't have to do a lot of work on it; you take it to the shop once a year, they dissect it and shake out its kidney stones or whatever, and you're back on the road.
Now, I *don't* know if that would work if I were to put a whole lot of miles on it, but I think the Xtra and the Trek will still get the 2 or 3 thousand yearly miles, while the Gazelle will mainly be my "rain" bike. It might suffice as my "life of crime" bike because most people don't notice its oddities, should I ever decide to become a stealth something (I don't know, sneaking up to cars and putting "I'm a gas-guzzling fool" bumper stickers on them or something :-))...

Electra has come out with the Amsterdam that looks a lot like this bike. . .
