Nice I like. I might be making the change to MTB soon as we are looking at buying a business in the Blue Mtns of northeastren Oregon and there is not too much opps for a roadie to ride up there but lots of dirt trails. So I may need all the help I can get with the change over. I know I will need the help as MTB scares the hell out of me right now.

I like it. I do have one question (this will show how much I do not know!!!!). You mentioned checking to see if your fork is locked out. A- does that mean so that your shock won't work? and B- how do you lock/unlock?

some front and rear shocks, generally "nicer" ones have an optional lockout that you can switch. Yes, with front and rear lock out you can turn your bike into a rigid which is nice for on on the road. If you can lock out the back that's nice for a long climb.

I once rode the NORBA XC course ( for fun) with reverse suspension...front locked out, back activated. And I thought it was my riding, that I was having "one of those days"...
