I did my sixth century on Sunday and ate properly all day. I woke up pretty hungry yesterday and ate a big brunch and normal dinner, but today I am INSANELY hungry!

I don't remember feeling like this after previous centuries. Any thoughts?

How close together were the centuries? Occassionally doing a long hard effort won't change your metabolism or appetite much, but over the long term, those kinds of efforts require more food and your appetite has to adjust to keep pace with the metabolism.

I should have been more clear- this was my first century this year! I've had a kind of frequent-but-short riding season, so Sunday was harder than previous years where I've done a more frequent long rides.

I've noticed that when the seasons begin to change it affects my appetite. the temps here have dropped. It may be you are beginning to store fat for the winter. :p

Ayuh.....
I call that "putting on my winter blubber layer!" :p

Frequently, after a hard ride (be it effort or mileage), I'll be a bottomless pit. If I don't eat, as happened recently, I'm laid out with a migrane.
So....my feeling is ... better to eat and eat well!
Rebuild those muscles, restore those electrolytes, and all that!

I notice, too, that I also get ravenously hungry when I do a really hard ride. I rarely lose any weight as opposed to others who do, after say, doing a 50 mile ride or more. I also need to eat and drink more than most people during a ride. So, I don't think this is unusual. Everyone is dfferent.
