K ladies,
Got me secret sister's name today.
To make it easier could i ask people's colour preference(s) and if they like a particular type of shirt?
I'm sure that someone out there will guess right away who thier Australian ss is when they get thier parcel...tee hee...

there are an awful lot of us.
I am ready to accept whatever shows up! girly teeshirt, regular, any color!
that's kind of the fun of it; i think; we're going to get something completely different.

there are an awful lot of us.
Yep...50 people in all!
If anyone would like to ask a question of their SS, you can PM me and I'll ask them for you, to keep it secret. If so, please be specific with both your question and your answers because I don't want to be going back and forth. I'll do one exchange per sister...if you'd like. :)
Oh, and be patient with me. I no longer can do this from work (except at lunch) so bear with my response times!!
I do agree with Mimi too though...suprizes are fun so if you don't need to ask...don't feel like you should. :D

This is my first time doing this!
Got the t-shirt theme down.
Local is good, right?
Bike related is good, right?
What if she doesn't like it?? Ohhhh.....STRESSSSSS!!!!!!

I also will be happy with anything I get!
I've already started putting my gift together, and I'd hate to have to go start over if I learn that my SS has a horrific aversion to bright, bright, orange :D (My SS is either going to laugh hysterically or think I'm totally insane when she gets this local-themed package - although don't worry SS, only one thing's orange!!)

09-05-2006, 08:57 PM
Re "package" - no, a big production isn't expected (although I'm sure appreciated). My sense is that some people do more, some people do less. Based on prior discussions on this topic, my recollection is that there's no specific limit, but most folks spend $10-20.
My ss is a few extra time zones from me this time, so a couple extra baubles may make it into the envelope, er "package". ;)

Ladyfish, oh good, now I know who you are !
I rode the STP, it's the hardest thing I'd ever done (up to that point) I did it on a hybrid bike, into headwinds..
That teeshirt represents a major change in my lifestyle, from couch potato to athlete.
Enjoy!

It was great to "see" a friendly face just then!
And I love the little keychain.
Thanks for the pick me up. I think it was jsut ther perfect amount of good karma cuz the rest of my day got better. :))

Mimi:
I glad it arrived safe and sound. I hope it fits now and after you wash it.
I'm not a racer and have no desires to race (I just like to ride so I can eat!). I thought the Louisville Bicycle Club's teams t-shirts were cool looking and well the rest is history. Again, enjoy the shirt and enjoy your little piece of Kentucky.

Your item is on its way. I think you will get it next week. Sorry it took a while to find something. Apparently not a lot of clubs around here do T shirts. I found out about this one from some fellow riders at a local century. No shirts there either!
I hope you like it! I think it is funny and it supports a good local org.

Hi Anna (sorry I don't know your screen name),
Thank you so much for the fabulous SS gifts.
I received a wonderful package all the way from Christchurch, New Zealand today. Inside was a very pretty blue (my favorite color by the way) t-shirt with the picture of an elaborately decorated Maori fishhook, the most adorable squeeky black sheep with dangly legs keychain and a very pretty blue shell bookmark.
Anna, thanks again for the special package. :D

I have never seen anything like it. TE gals you know those Hwy signs with the icons indicating "gas, food, lodging"? There are graphics like that but they say "eat, sleep, ride" on the icon. The little sleeping figure in the bed icon has a thought ballon that says "finish".
So cute. Thanks!

Now that Sept. SS is done- the secret's out.
Ooops, so sorry I sent you the coffee Amanda. I feel bad that I sent you something you don't like (now I know to send you chocolate instead of coffee for "next time"). Hopefully you found someone who likes to drink it! Perhaps you could appease your parents with the coffee so they don't steal your shirt! :) Glad you liked it, and again, sorry it was late. :D
There was a woman who ran the marathon in front of me last month who had an A&M cycling jersey on- made me think of you the whole way (well, half of the way since she was on lap two when I was starting lap one). Go Aggies!

The water bottle is perfect. I have a pink one just like it that goes with my road bike and just the other day, I was thinking that I needed a cool colored one to go with my commuter. Since I just bought a laptop backpack in lime green (off SAC...also thanks to you!), the bottle choice is perfect!!
Oh, and since I've never had an accident/wipeout yet, the bravesoldier stuff is bound to come in handy very soon! ;) (though, let's hope not!)

That Crash Pack is like insurance- filled with cool stuff you'll never get to use- because if you're prepared- you'll never crash!
A friend of mine had a bad MTB crash at what's that huge bike expo in LV- Interbike. Brave Soldier had a booth there, and they fixed him all up using the mesh dressing stuff- it worked really well.
SORRY it took forever- but I first of all had to wait for the event which was near the end of the month- that's my excuse, anyway!
I am glad you like it, and hope to reform myself in October.

Thank you for my fabulous T-shirts! I really like them both. I love the Bearfoot Inn one, and btw, Mr. Salsa says to tell you he's been to King Cove, False Pass, and flew through Cold Bay, during his tugboater days. And you know I'll be happy to wear the Team In Training one for your local guy---glad he was here, glad he's better--and I too like the back's "It's a hill---get over it".
And I LOVE my coral snake! Nice choice! Ditto the apple cinnamon gels. (yes, for those deep in thought, the snake is a toy)
Thank you for a really great September SS collection! I love it all.

Yeah! Yeah! She gave me a toy coral snake. It's hanging on a hook upstairs right now where I hope it will scare the crap out of the construction crew tomorrow. Now THERE is a truly thoughtful Secret Sister.
Alaska is a very cool place. I would love to come visit sometime. I expect Mr. Salsa would far prefer Cold Bay to, say, Dutch Harbor, a place he saw often. Thank you again!

...via Fed Ex, no less! :p
THANKS, ANN!
Love the t-shirt -- yes, it fits, boy BOY! You're right...they run small! -- and the chocolate. Yum! Can't wait to dive into those. The only way to make dark chocolate better is to add coffee to it, so I think I'll be sampling that one first! :D Will have to hide them from DH.... hmmmmmm...
Two thumbs up!
Thanks again!

The package I sent just came back in the mail. :( I copied the address down incorrectly.
I will be resending as soon as I can get to the post office, which will probably be next week. I'm *so* sorry for the delay! It's coming...I promise!

Crazy canuck you are the BEST. Thanks from WA to WA ;)
In all seriousness, you outdid yourself.
I received not one, but two t shirts from the beautiful Western Australia. One is captioned "Margaret River" showing dolphins, fish and a whale. Now that I think about it, when have we in the US ever named geography after women!
The second shirt is Aboriginal-designed art by a woman called "Women's Ceremonial Place" by Maureen Hudson Nampajimpa. Also I found a jar of Karri honey, a wine bag listing Australian wineries, a photographic book of South West nature and parks and beautiful postcards and a nice written card.
Thank you for furthering my appreciation of Australia, especially of areas I knew so little of before. I hope to travel there someday and will include WA as well.
Lastly, thanks for making the world a little smaller, a little cozier, a little warmer. Sisters are sisters everywhere!

YAYAY...:D
Quilfred it took me ages to decide what to send...What does one send when one can't find and now knows Perth bike shops don't sell local bike shirts??
Also, I was so worried about it being late!!!
If you ever want to come down to WA & kayak there are some wonderful places to do it. Hopefully the magazine will tempt you to venture down this way...
No crocs down in south western Australia!!!!

SS in San Jose, CA thank you so much for the package it did wonders for my spirits today:) ! I'm home with a raging kidney infection :( and I really needed a pick-me-up! I love the t-shirt. I have a secret love of anatomy and so the skeleton on the bike is perfect not to mention it will be a topic of conversation in my science class in the near future! Thanks also for the note cards, I love the cat on them. The lip balm and the Tide pen will come in handy I know (how did you know I'm always dropping food on myself?). Finally, the cats and kittens have been enjoying the cat toys - up and down the hallway they all go, needless to say they are a big hit amongst my feline friends. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to showing off my really cool "Cycling For Life - Berkeley" t-shirt!
