View Full Version : Picture of the Green Hornet
Awhile ago, someone posted the link to BikeNames www.bikenames.com, and the idea really appealed to me. You get two name decals for about $6, and there is quite a variety of fonts and sizes. Here's a picture of the Green Hornet with her new name decal. You can barely see it on the top bar. I didn't get quite close enough, and it was the last shot on a throw-away camera. Someday I must leave the stone age and get a digital...but I digress. If you stare with a magnifying lens, you can also see her cool new green valve caps, and the beautiful green polar bottle!

Thanks for pointing out that url mistake--fixed! What do you mean horrible quotes? Things they said, or ridiculously high prices? I really like this website--they get it about how much we love our bikes!

So is that an Eros Donna?
So is that an Eros Donna?
Nope! She's a Veloche. You can barely barely make out that word on the top bar near the front.

It's a pretty bike. Bianchis are really pleasant to look at. I have an Eros Donna.
One time this summer, I was riding pretty fast down the bike path by the lake, when a guy coming the other way grinned at me and seemed to yell, "YUCKY!" I was quite puzzled by this, until I realized he'd yelled, "BIANCHI!" :D They are beautiful. Is the Eros Donna a WSD?

Don't you love it when your perceptual abilities have that kind of lag time? Makes for all kinds of interesting thoughts...
Yes, the Eros Donna is WSD. It was a major find fitwise, really--couldn't feel better. And, although I swore fit was first and color-liking was optional, and even meant it---it was ALSO nice to get a bike that was that nice to look at! Here it is:

Tell me about it. I looked at that, and said "Geez, the Bad Acid font is *nice*. But it'd wreck the paint scheme I've got... unless I strip it down and have it powdercoated... some guy around here's doing it for $100... "

No, no! It's only about $6! That's the price of two Starbucks, or one bottle of wine (I'm guessing here), or 18 cans of Spam....:p You can justify this one! I know you can!

Lise,
Is your saddle nose pointing way down, or is that the angle from the camera??
Nice bike, tho'.
My LBS dealer noted that Sharpies work nicely to "customize" (or "grafitti-ize" his wife mentioned) unpainted ti frames. Wipes off easily when you're bored with it with rubbing alcohol. I've put my name on a chainstay with a Sharpie (and a bunny on the dropouts), but I haven't tried to remove yet. Don't know if that would work for painted frames, however.....
The saddle is pointed down, but not as much as it appears to be in the picture! It put too much pressure on my pubic bone when it was level. I keep an allen wench in my saddle bag and keep playing with the angle. Not sure I've got it right yet, but it's better.
It was supposed to rain today (and may yet), but it's sunny out now, and I have the day off, so I'm going for a ride! WAHOO! :D
