The last two weeks have not been my healthiest. First, I managed to mess up my neck and shoulders, too much computer at work and home, not enough stretching. I had to cancel my Pilates class on Tuesday. Since the class is a duet, I called the woman I'm partnered with to let her know I wouldn't be there. That's my first mistake - I called on the wrong phone  Mind you, she gave me three numbers, so I picked one and left a message. She calls later that night and tells me I really should have used her other number, and it's a good thing she had taken a mat class earlier in the day, or she'd be upset about canceling class. (Never mind that I could hardly turn my head either left or right.....)
The following Thursday, I work with my trainer/coach, and he helps fix the neck and shoulder problem (hurray for trainers that are Physical Therapists!)
I did the Cindy training ride on Saturday, then volunteered to help the SF AIDS foundation on Sunday at their bike expo. I did a lot of running around, lifting, setting up displays, moving cases of water. That monday, I had a little twinge in my lower back. Dang! Not enough streching! Did some light streches, and went to work on Tuesday. At this point, I'm looking forward to my Pilates class, figuring the workout will give my back the streching it needs. Lunch rolls around, I bend to open the drawer where my purse is, and TWANG!!!!! OHMYGODMYBACK!
Dragged my sorry a$$ home, and called my Pilates partner at about 1:00, to cancel a 7:30 pm class. I'm barely walking at this point, I've slapped on one of those Ben Gay patches, and I'm waiting for the Motrin to kick in. She calls and leaves a message - "sorry about your back, but could you give me 24 hours notice when you are canceling?" There was more, but I got extremely pissed and nuked the message.
Now really, if I knew 24 hours before hand that my back was going to go on me, I wouldn't be working for the County govenment, I'd have me an 800 number providing psychic advice to the masses!
My problem - I have eight more classes with this woman, and I so do not want to deal with her any more. My options - drop the class completely, which I don't want to do, ask the teacher if I can switch the 8 remaining duet classes to 5-6 private classes, or just tough it out for the next 8 weeks, but not sign up for the duet sessions with her again.
Well, I guess the other option is to call her back and rip her a new one, but that's not really my style :p
Whaddaya all think?
