I have several small holes in the butt of my new Craft shorts. Can they be fixed? Or at least kept from getting worse? Any suggestions? Thank you

I would not try to fix elastic. This material is intend to be stretchy and if you try to fix them they will not do what they are supposed to do.

Maybe there's some sort of lycra-ie iron-on patch? If they were expensive shorts, it'd be worth it to try (then at least you'd get some use out of 'em).

I fixed a hole in my arm warmers, by using a patch made from an old pair of cycling shorts The thing about lycra - if you just sew it shut it has a tendancy to try pull apart again at the edges and around the stitches, so I put a little patch of lycra on the inside to reinforce it and sewed the hole up over top. The "scar" looks a little Frankesteiny, but that may be due more to my poor sewing skills than anything :p, its held up nicely, and its not a problem on the armwarmers, but patching like that might create an uncomfortable bump in a pair of shorts?

Then again a team mate of mine has been wearing a pair of shorts with a little hole in them from last years cross season all year long and it hasn't gotten any bigger.

Also, if you're not good at sewing/darning....do the old pantyhose trick and put a little clear nail polish around the edges of the holes to help keep them from enlarging. You can wear them under warm fuzzy sweat pants for fall-winter biking.
