Velo Girls™ announces 2004 Clinics for Women

Continuing their dedication to educating women cyclists, Velo Girls™ Coaching Services, based in San Francisco, has announced their schedule of 2004 clinics, expanding on their every-popular Girls Got Skills™ clinics to include a track series and an advanced skills and tactics clinic.

New this year is Girls on Track™, a six-week women’s track clinic and racing series. Coached by three-time world champion record-holder, Linelle Ross, the first two weeks of the series have been a huge success. The goal of the series is to introduce more women to track racing and to give both new and experienced women more opportunity to race at the track. For current results and photos, see http://www.velogirls.com/track_results.html. Girls on Track™ is sponsored by the NCNCA, the NCVA, Bianchi, GU Sports Nutrition, Sheila Moon, Sports Basement, The Sock Guy, and Tri-Flow.

Another new offering in 2004 is Girls Got Tactics™, an advanced skills & tactics clinic coached by Giana Roberge and Lorri Lee Lown, to be held in San Francisco on February 28th. Roberge joined the Velo Girls™ coaching staff earlier this year as strategy coach for the Velo Girls™ Racing Team. Her decade-long professional cycling career racing and most recently coaching and managing the Saturn Cycling Team. She’s currently national champion and world silver medalist in the time trial, and will compete in the Race Across America in June, 2004. She founded her latest venture, Team Speed Queen™, to help advance women’s cycling at all levels.

Back by popular demand in 2004 are three weekends of Girls Got Skills™, the cornerstone two-day women’s cycling clinics developed by Lorri Lee Lown and Cathy Wong in 2003. Targeted to advanced recreational riders and beginning to intermediate racers, all three weekends in 2003 sold out and many of the participants have accomplished personal goals, including racing, during the 2004 season.

Velo Girls™ was selected as the 2003 Women's Club of the Year by USA Cycling.
