The cold weather is almost over, but I've been wearing my knickers (go below the knee) with a pair of regular exercise tights over the top. I wear a winter or long sleeved jersey and a light-weight cycling jacket that I could take off and tie around my wast if it got too warm. I also ride in 40+ degrees and this seems to keep me comfortable. I also wear a light weight headband to cover my ears, but my husband wears a skull cap under his helmet. Wool socks are a must, plus it's a good idea to get some cycling booties for over your shoes.
