If so, click here (http://www.vanillabicycles.com/).
Wow. With a 22 month waiting list, I have plenty of time to save $ and become a better rider, LOL:D

I stumbled across their site a couple years ago and have been lusting for one since. Something about those frames, the way the V is carved in, gosh it's beautiful!

OMG, a cycling friend of mine just directed me to their webpage for the first time a couple of days ago. I've been dreaming of one ever since! ;)
Aren't they beautiful?? :)

Nice bikes :)
I think I'd need 22 months not just to become a better ride, but to start a huge fundraising campaign to raise the money for the bike :D

OK, I haven't even clicked on the link but I'm going to guess this is Vanilla Bicycles web page. "Lust" is an understatement.
And I can't even ride a DF anymore!

Which one would you choose? I'd have to go with Bike Four among the touring bikes. I'd like to explain what I like but the pictures turn me into a monosyllabic idiot.

I chose a Serotta, only a 3 mos wait! :p

Phew, it was a Vanilla. They're already on my bike lust list. I was afraid you were going to post a new one I'd have to lust after. Here's another one for you, from the top of my lust list...

I would go with Bike 1 of the Commuters. Fenders, racks, disc brakes, it's got it all. I've been digging sweet commuter bikes for a while now.
I also really like bike 1 of the cross frames also.

Some of that custom lugwork is just gaudy, IMO. My lust list will include Vanilla, but not Columbine. Some of us need to keep our lust lists small.

no i didn't need another bike to lust over, but thanks anyhow. i'll add another to my list.
the Columbine ones look like you should put them on a pedistal and not ride them. i'd be afraid of ruining it on a fall.
i've been lusting over the cross bike from voodoo (http://www.voodoocycles.net/). its the bright colors that gets me every time.

If you want gaudy, check out Brian Baylis' bikes. Some of his are simply over the top.
Here's one that I saw in person, way too high on the frou-frou scale for my taste. :p

(to be fair, he also makes lovely, elegant bikes too)

Jobob, there's someone who works across the st from me in Oakland with a Rivendel Saluki (sp?) that they ride to work. It's two tone cream and lavender, brown Brooks saddle, mustache handlebars....
"oh yeah, this is just my commuter"
It's all I can do to stop from drooling over it ;-)

Oh, but you get to design your own...make it as gaudy or simple as you like.
JoBob--I did not need to see the Baylis bikes. Very nice.

Sure are a lot of Brooks saddles on those pretty bikes...

Are you trying to say that you only look at the saddles and not the lugs? I didn't notice the saddles (but then again, I missed all the pics that needed java).
Deanna, I figures the lugs were custom too. I just need a criterion to keep the lust list small.

Oh, I looked at the lugs, too. But I have close-ups of the lugs on the Waterford to keep me warm and cozy at night...:D

Living in Portland, I get to see a lot of lovely Vanillas. They had an exhibit of local frame builders at City Hall, and he was there. Someday...

This is the framebuilder's wife and daughter, BTW.
