Jayne Williams, author of Slow Fat Triathlete will be speaking in Seattle. Here's the email I received:

Howdy!

Pardon the impersonal e-mail, but I am not sure where all my Slow Fat Triathlete readers live, and I wanted to let you all know that I am going to be speaking in the Seattle area twice next week, and I would love to invite readers, friends of readers, plus readers' relatives, acquaintances, neighbors, coworkers, and even complete strangers to come to one or both events.

On Thursday, August 17, I will be at
Center Cycle
3950 Lind Avenue (Near IKEA)
Renton, WA 98055
at 7 p.m.
I'll be giving a talk, answering questions, and of course, signing books. We’d love to have a good crowd for this one!

And on Saturday, August 19 I will be at the Danskin Seattle Expo
Sand Point Magnuson Park
Hanger 27
7400 Sand Point Way NE
Seattle, WA 98115
11am - 3pm

My understanding is that I will be at Sally Edwards's booth, which I believe is called Heart Zones. I will be selling books, greeting people, and generally having a good time. If you think you're going to stop by the Expo to see me, let me know because I will update you if I'm going to be at a different booth than I thought. We are still figuring out the details.

Please feel free to pass on this information to your friends, relatives, acquaintances, etc. who are in the Seattle area. We should have a good time at Danskin and at the Expo, and the more people I meet over the weekend, the happier I'll be! Tell everyone!

Cheers,
Jayne

I would love to go hear her, but I live more than halfway across the country! If someone from here goes, please tell her I say hi (we've emailed each other off and on for a year), and bring back a report!

:D Lise

Jayne is so nice, KN. I hope you get to meet her. Have you read her book? I found it very comforting, informative, and inspiring.

Thanks for the heads up, Lise. I'll definitely stop by, and I haven't read her book, so I'll have to pick one up!

Get on a plane and come on out!

Edit: oh, wait, you're doing a tri this weekend, too.

Aw, heck, come on out anyway. Do our tri with us...

Wouldn't that be fun? To fly around the country and do triathlons with each other? Let's see, we'd need a stable of bikes in every town...:D

How'z about you guys just send me one of those swim angels with a noodley thing, 'k? Man, this board is going to explode with race reports! And then next week is Brina and LynneK's! Hot times on the ol' triathlon board!

If some gorgeous angel has to rescue me, I'll have her read the back of my RoadID and contact you or Trek (wasn't that the plan?)

Are you two planning to flip a coin for this one?

It would be very cool if TE'ers could meet up for tris and rides all over the country. Not that I even know if I'll like tris, but I know I like rides.

oh, wait, did you mean you want the noodle? Or the angel?

Why not just take both?

(or split, one of you or Trek take the noodle, the other take the angel)

It would depend on the how girly this angel was. If Trek likes girly, heck, she can have 'er. I'll take the noodle. :p I think the deal was, I would take the boys, Trek would take the girls. But I have an open mind. :D

Or, in the middle of the lake, I might prefer my angel just have a high body fat factor, to improve flotation! Heck, in that case, I'll just take the noodle.
