Well, despite the bicycle wreck that did not happen to my group, the ride was spectacular yesterday. The sky was the bluest blue, the few clouds were fluffy and white. We saw two great big Bald Eagles near Lower Lake Mary and just up the rode about a mile we saw 4 wonderful deer running in the meadow just below the road. One had a new set of small antlers. They are so graceful running through the field - don't know what spooked them. Then they just stopped and watched us while we rode by. What a wonderful sight.
We had just 5 ladies on the ride (one new to our group who came up from Phoenix). Everyone was doing and feeling great and had a grand time.
The only bad thing about the ride was the wreck a young girl had (not in our group). Two guys and a young girl passed us on our way back and somehow down the road the young girl fell off her bike and was knocked out. Some motorcyclists had stopped to help the riders and were directing traffic. We stopped since we had two nurses with us until the ambulance came. I am hoping that the young girl just had a slight concussion. She didn't look too bad other than the bang on her head. Haven't heard through the grapevine yet about how she is doing, but I'm sure I will sometime soon.
