Need LBS recommendation please

A friend has recently moved to SF near SFSU and needs a local bike shop recommendation... you know the kind she wants;

great mechanic
good/great gear selection
treats us grrls as fabulously as we deserve

I like San Francisco Cyclery on Stanyan.

When my friends and I were looking into getting into biking last Fall, they were the only shop who took the time to talk with us, and listened to what we were willing to spend, and were very nice and patient. I took another bike there to be worked on, and the service has always been great.

It's not super close to SFSU (but it would be a nice ride to get there). There are a few shops closer to SFSU(off of the top of my head, one on Ocean and one on taraval).

I can recommend Pacific Bicycle.

They're on 4th Street, near downtown. This is not within biking distance of UCSF, really, but they do have a small parking lot in case your friend can go by car. I have found them to be friendly, knowledgeable, respectful of women, and they have a good selection of bikes & accessories.
