Hi there,

I found this website and thought maybe someone on here could help with my silly predicament.

I ride a "Kmart special" bicycle ... it's old and decrepid and I need a new one. I went into a bicycle store on a recent vacation and fell in love with a bike. It was so fantastic looking: pale yellow body with small brown flowers on the frame, from far away you couldn't tell they were flowers, and a brown leather seat and matching handlebars. The price on the tag was $34. I told the salesperson I was going to think about it and went home. He told me it was a "hybrid" -- not quite a mountain bike. I have since called the store to ask what kind of bike it was but the person who helped me left and no one can answer my question. I would like to find this bike online and buy it -- but I have no idea what brand, model, etc. Anyone have any ideas how to go about identifying it? I love, love, love this bike now and would like to buy one. What about a website with lots of pictures where I might find it?

Thanks so much for your help.

Sarah

Sarah,
Can't you ask the manager what brands of bikes they carry and at least be able to track it down that way?
But my main puzzlement is the $34 price tag- are you sure this was an adult bike? Was it used? Seems awfully low priced to me. Hopefully it wouldn't fall apart right away if you did get one!

$34.00?? Was that a typo?? Even a used bike would prolly be more than that... I dunno? I'm puzzled??
From the sound of it though it sounds like a beach cruiser to me? Did it have wide handle bars?

Trek Calypso, perhaps? Retails for about $300.

I wonder if the tag said $34.00 and was a typo for $340.00??? No bike from a bike shop costs $34! And you wouldn't want it if it did -- that's cheaper than a Kmart special!

Sorry! The price tag was $349. That was an unfortunate typo! Thanks so very much for the helpful responses.

HA! HA!

Yea, when I read, "$34", I thought, "Why does she CARE what type of bike it is... and why did she even THINK about it... a bike that cheap should have been bought right then and there!" :p

Yeah we were all trying to be polite and refrain from saying "Thirty four dollars!?!- that must be a heck of a piece of JUNK!" :D
I think we did well! :D

Could be the K2 T-Nine Breeze too

It's blue with a subtle pattern of blue flowers, but maybe last year it was a different color? It would be around that price too.

Ask the bike shop which brands they carry, and you can narrow it down some.

I thought it might be a K2 T-Nine model, too, because I saw their Trailhead model at REI a few weeks ago and it has a really cool subtle flower pattern, as well. I am not much for flowers on bikes, but I was ready to trade in my Rockhopper on the spot. That one is green, but I thought maybe they had a hybrid in the yellow.

It's really the brown saddle and handlebar grips that are throwing me.
