1. riding on the sidewalk (it is the rule on this particular road) heading west bound. another cyclist riding eastbound. Big honking tree right next to the sidewalk on my side, open grass on his side. He stays on the sidewalk, so close to the center my arms comes within millimeters of the tree bark. The guy was on a mountain bike.

2. what is it with male cyclists and replica jerseys? Do they think they will go as fast as Lance if they are wearing a postal jersey? is it like the guys who play touch football while wearing an Urlacher jersey? are they aware they look like idiots? am I the only one who thinks they look like idiots?

3. where oh where is my other red castelli glove?

4. on the must ride on the sidewalk rule for this particular road - it is 2 miles from my house to the bike path and you are not allowed to ride in the street on the most direct road between my house and the path. there is sidewalk only on the north side of the road for half the distance and only on the south side of the road for the other half.

5. finally, to the woman putting her wheeled cross country skis on - there was a rectangle of pavement adjacent to the path immediately to your right. Why, oh why were you bent over in the middle of the path putting your silly skatey things on?

vents done for today.

.

It is with your socks that the dryer seems to randomly eat every so often! :D At least mine does.

Brina - I've had days like that when the dorkus obliviouses (obliviae?) all seem to be out at the same time. Makes me wish I had a handlebar mounted super soaker. :-)

And that, dear friends, is why I bought a bike. I didn't want to be that person taking up the whole path with my rollerskis.

Brina, I think you're in LF, right? Tell the village council (or is only LB a village? That's how long it's been since I've lived there, I don't remember...), anyhoo...tell 'em...tell 'em...that LANCE is planning to move there, but ONLY if they put in excellent bike lanes on all the roads. :p

I can absolutely picture the sidewalk/tree thing. And I agree with you about the replica jerseys. Um, really, you were on the Postal team? No? Personal friend of Lance's? No? Yeah, unless it's a gift from a friend, I don't wear the t-shirt unless I did the race.

The wheeley-ski things--this week I did my long ride on the south path. On the way back up, I came across a guy on those skis at a fairly narrow portion of the path. In response to my "on your left!", he graciously curtailed his broad arm movements, and coasted to the right until I passed him. He got a hearty "Thank you!", and my respect. He could teach the rollerbladers a thing or two.
