Hello-
Sorry for the mulitple threads, but I wanted to make sure everyone read this as the other threads have gotten rather large.

Leslie (pedal wench) and I have asked Susan to help us take on the task of ordering and distributing the shirts. Between the two of us we have very large orders, and we are not really equipped to handle the processing- whereas Susan is.
Thankfully she agreed without hesitation. The one thing she was concerned about was folks feeling like we are commercializing Jenny's death. And that is in no way our intention. Susan has been emphatic in stating that she will make sure that every dime possible goes to the Mission. In fact she discussed using a coupon code to offset some things that are programmed in their system so that the minimum amount of postage is charged.
We are doing this simply for logistics. I won't have to unfurl my dormant paypal account, Leslie doesn't have to do the same, and it will make it easier for you folks as you can just order the shirt right here. And we all know how good TE is about shipping things fast!! :)
I hope this works for everyone and that it doesn't cause any conflicts.
I am emailing all the sizes over to Susan this morning and she will place one bulk order.
Thank you for your understanding. We will keep you posted on the status of the order.

Oh....great idea. I was thinking how you were going to be able to organize all these requests. But it all started with you RM and I want to thank you for all the effort you have been putting forth on this.

I will be checkin the shopping page today!

Actually, I wasn't concerned that people would think YOU were commercializing things. I was afraid that if WE, that is Team Estrogen, got involved, there would be some concern that WE would be commercializing the effort, or possibly making some money off of this terrible tragedy.

I'd just like to reiterate that every penny over the wholesale cost of the shirts paid to the manufacturer will be going to the charity selected by Jenny's family. Team Estrogen will also be making an additional donation over and above the funds raised via the sale of the tees.

Finally, I'm also going to ask the t-shirt manufacturer if he too will be willing to donate a portion of the wholesale cost of the shirts back to the Mission as well. I've left a message for the manufacturer to call me back this a.m. I hope to have an exact delivery date from him as soon as possible.

I'm honored to be asked to help Denise & Leslie organize this effort. These two women are to be commended for their organizational skills and for not allowing Jenny's death to fall into obscurity. They are right - no woman should ever have to be afraid to ride alone. We shouldn't have to fear for our safety and limit our activities.

I'm not a religious person, and as such, I don't belive that things "happen for a reason". Nonetheless, I DO believe that we have the choice to take a terrible event and MAKE it mean something to all of us to have to live with the aftermath. The worst tragedy of all would be for people to forget that Jenny was a loving mother, sister, daughter, friend, wife...

My sincere condolences to Jenny's family.

Stay safe everyone,

Susan

May I make a suggestion. To facilitate both you fulfilling the orders, and donations to the charity, perhaps you could set up a place on the website where we go to both complete our orders (i.e. pay and give you shipping info.) and add a box we can click to add an additional donation to the charity. That way since we are all of different means, instead of having a set amount to add to the costs of the shirts for the charity, we can each, at the time we complete our shirt order, make our donation.

I just spoke with Leslie on the phone, and this was something that we discussed. I think we will be able to make something like this happen, all on the same page. I'll keep you all posted.

That is terrific. THANKS AGAIN SUSAN! If it is difficult in your system to add a randomly specified amount, you could list an item like $5 to charity or $10 to charity, with a quantity button so folks could click how many multiples of the specified unit they want to donate. This is how bike journal handled donations to help Z-man after his RAAM accident. I am also sure that none of us would mind re-entering our final order in your system so you don't have to read through those long threads.

You gals are great! Thank you to Denise, Leslie, Susan and TE!

It never ceases to amaze me how concerned and generous the women here at TE Forum are. I'm honored to be part of it.

Thanks guys, but I must say that all I did was gather enough orders from my own group that I realized I couldn't handle all of the orders I was hoping to get from some of the other Atlanta groups. At that point, I sent an email to Susan and Team Estrogen, begging for help.

Thank you Susan, and everyone at TE (especially Jeff, for brainstorming while we were on the phone!) for stepping up to help with all of this. The message wouldn't be so widespread if you weren't willing to handle the dirty work.

For the computer illiterate (aka ME) can someone post a link to where we should go to order/reorder the shirts?

Thanks,

(and I would love to be able to wear the Jenny shirt at the Seattle Danskin Triathlon)

I gave all the numbers to Susan and she was going to contact the guy and do a bulk order.
I suspect that we won't see a link to order the shirt until she actually receives them.
The owner of the company told me that it takes about 3-4 weeks, but he said he would do his best to rush them for us.

Just to be certain I have this correct, once TE receives the shirts, we go and place our order? The one we gave you was for an idea of how many in what colours and sizes? Am I on the right track or way off? I just want to be certain I do not miss out on a shirt. :)
