But it is of interest nonetheless. The Big Dam Bridge, closing the loop of the Little Rock and North Little Rock, AR, multi-use trails will be opening on September 30, with the inaugural Big Dam Bridge 100 happening on October 1st.

An article about the bridge, which will be the longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge in the world, is here:

And it was recently featured in the editor's column in an issue of Bicycling magazine.

I signed up my son and I to do the 20 miler. Please PM me if you decide to come to the Natural State to do the century!

This is going to be an awesome ride! I live in Little Rock and have been waiting for this bridge to be complete for a while! I am planning to either ride the 55 mile option with my SO, or the 20 mile with my 11 year old son who just got a new road bike. I hope people from around AR will come and take part!

Cool, Lynne! I'm riding the 20 miler with my 12 year old son. If you do decide to ride with your boy, PM me if you'd like to ride together.

Oh, we have mountain bikes, so we'd be slow! I imagine if there is a big crowd (I hope there is) that there will be lots of slow people like us. But we can do 20 miles, easy.

We live in Siloam Springs, but we have lots of friends and relatives in Little Rock. Go there often and bring our bikes. Hope to meet you!
