The temperature here went from 97 with a 108 heat index to 77 as the front came through. Some good storms came with it, with lots of rain that are making my poor flowers happy.

Good riding weather resumes tomorrow. :D

I second that emotion! I don't remember ever feeling so glad to smell, hear, feel, and see the rain.

I rode 35 miles in the heat yesterday to get in a training ride on a day off. Felt pretty sick after. Felt sick when I came out of the clinic this afternoon and it was still 102 and sunny. My heart soared when I smelled the rain coming out the kitchen window, then heard the thunder, and saw it start. It's still hot in the brick building I live in, but it will cool off. Riding is going to feel so good!

Bikingmom--it's coming your way. My friend in Denver told me the heat broke for them yesterday. It's moving east. Hang in there.

I have never been so happy to hear the sound of thunder as I was at about 7:30 last night. one or two days of 100 degree weather I can handle - 2 weeks of it is insane. My 3 year old started to cry when we left the mall yesterday because she doesn't like the heat.
