View Full Version : REALLY stupid question, but DH?

Ok, after a week plus on the board, I've learned many things.

I'm a bit confused about the constant reference to "DH" - at first I thought it was the initials to someone's husband, but now it appears that it's an abbreviation to something, or you are all married to the same man!

Does it stand for "Da Hubby"? "Domestic Helper"?

Thank you for making me laugh. I needed it. :D
No, I do not think it bad at all that those did not cross you mind. You would be amazed when I put I am a SAHM (stay at home mom), some of the interesting things people think it stands for. :)

I never could figure out what DS meant...(dear son)

Lise uses one- MWBR- more will be revealed.

Some people use DPITA- dear pain in the azz

SO- significant other

BF- boyfriend

I used to have a girlfriend who had a BF and eventually fiance who she called Boyfriend, all the time, like that was his name, and that was the name we all knew him by. It was cute.

Since "DH" brings d*ck head to mind (which would've been appropriate for my ex), I just call my hubby Mr. Fish :)

I'm particularly fond of ROFLMAO :D

I was very amused when KnottedYet posted about seeing us on our tandem on the trail, and called us "Salsa" and "Mr. Salsa". So now Chris knows he is Mr. Salsa on this board. He liked it.

I think I like "Domestic Help" more than "Dear Husband"

I never figured out what IIRC means. Any ideas?

As often as not, when I think/type DH (& I type it as much or more than anyone), I'm thinking Dip sH**. Hey, it makes sense in my little mind!

Dear Husband. D*ck Head. Downhill.

I like Nanci's version best. Kinda made me think that if the DH (dear husband) becomes a DH (d*ick head), he's gonna get pushed DH (downhill).

Domestic help?

If that's it, what it's supposed to be, then I need to let MY DH know about this!

And then people's names get shortened to initials, like RM (Running Mommy) and SK (SadieKate). I call Fishdr plain old Fish, though. But I don't feel right calling Denise "Mommy!"

It seems funny to call Maillotpois "MP" as I think it would be more likely that the Military Police are on alert for her rather than the other way around.

I'm going to start calling her "Pea."

OK... OK...

I have to post this...

...talking about internet shorthand!

Just thinking once more of the Assne/Acne thread... ROTFLMFAO!!!

We all know those cute little computer symbols called "emoticons," where:

:) means a smile and

:( is a frown.

Well, how about some "ARSEICONS?". Here goes:

(_!_) a regular arse

(__!__) a fat arse

(!) a tight arse

(_*_) a sore arse

{_!_} a swishy arse

(_o_) an arse that's been around

(_x_) kiss my arse

(_X_) leave my arse alone

(_zzz_) a tired arse

(_E=mc2_) a smart arse

(_$_) Money coming out of his arse

(_?_) Dumb Arse

PITFA has always been a favourite of mine

"Pain In The F'ing A**"

It rolls off the tongue so nicely that it works well in every day conversations :) (ok, kinda depends on who ya hang with....)

Yup to GU (I luuurve GU... yuck to leppin and others, gimme gimme GU)

and yes... rolling on the floor laughing my f***ing arse off...

And because I have a rather naughty and wicked sense of humour, I sometimes write

<EFG>

(evil f***ing grin - and I always put the < > at each end to symbolish an imp/devil/demons horns))

and, btw... (by the way)... I don't really swear this much in RL (real life).

...in fact, F2F (face 2 face) you will find me much me couth...

!!!Truly!!!

<EFG>

IRL- in real life

I'm the exact opposite. I try to control my potty mouth on line, but IRL, I'm very bad. For example, I just called my computer "you piece of sh*t" and made my student and tech trainee burst out laughing.

Which of these abbreviations can be pronounced? Would you call someone a "pita" or only a P.I.T.A.? Some would be real tongue twisters (ROTFLMFAO).

Very few work out loud. PITA and PITFA work great out loud. PITFA is a term that I use on a daily basis (apparently I am easily irritated).

If you spend too much time online (BB's, chatrooms) sometimes you will finding yourself nearly saying "L.O.L.", however! "ROLF" is another one that can slip!
