I was having trouble taking off my front wheel and I have to do it regularly. They switched the tire from a 28 to a 25 and it's easy now.

I couldn't reach my brakes from the drops. Sort of, I could. But not really. I have Tiagras. Which aren't suppose to be adjustable. They popped in shims and they look and feel great to me.

Okay, it's a brand new bike and I bought it from them but these guys must see a million people like me daily who haven't a clue what is going on. But they listened well. And fixed it all. Even explained it as they went along.

For free.

That's great, but it's too bad they didn't show you how to get your wheel off with the 28 - probably backing off the brakes a bit is all you needed to do.

Esther -- isn't that awesome? Don't you just love service? I sure hope it doesn't go the way of the dinosaur some day, with all our big box stores.

I have a similar tale -- went to buy tires the other day, and when I said I'd never changed one, could I watch and learn how, the service guy was most accomodating, explained everything he did. Then, my sales person and I had a bit of a talk about the fit of my bike. I told him that I was having trouble with my ELBOWS when I rode. Elbows? he asked, then, what kind of pain? So I told him -- my best description was "they feel like old lady elbows." He put me on my bike, looked things over, said we needed to adjust the handlebars. Today's ride -- no elbow pain, but not only that, no knee achiness post ride! And we didn't do anything about my "old lady knees." We didn't even talk about those.

There was a charge for the tires and tubes, of course, but all my learning and tweaking was free -- and it's not like I have a fancy bike -- it's WAY entry level! (of course, someday, there will be a nice shiny road bike in my garage, and it's coming from there!)

Yes, that's it exactly. It's like magic to go there when stuff isn't right. They listen and then they fix it. And even explain it along the way.

It's like visiting a really nice place where there are caring people. I can't get over that they do it for free. I really can't. I'm loving this!!!

I wish my car mechanic was 1/10 as nice. And I pay him a small fortune.
