A couple hours ago a man got into a Jewish center in Seattle and shot 6 women. One of the women has died. He said he was doing it because he was angry with Israel.
Send love and good thoughts for the other 5 women. One of them is pregnant.

I'll meditate on it tonight, Knotted.
People can do such stupid things for such stupid reasons.:(

Likewise.....
... I Googled for info and the headline below that one was: "Arizona man lifts car off cyclist." http://tvnz.co.nz/view/page/425822/798647

Here's a news link. I've been watching the TV, and things seem to be changing every few minutes.

Ok, in a way I'm sort of relieved that it's beginning to look like the shooter was a man from Pakistan. It would be awful to think a Seattleite would be so hateful as to shoot 6 women over far-distant politics. But then it begs the xenophobia issue.
It's just crazy. What is wrong with people? (and why is it men who tend to be so dang violent?)
Why is the world so nuts?
DPITA's family hid in a ditch for 3 days to escape the Nazis, then managed to get almost to the German/Netherlands border on foot before they were trapped by a border closure.
Why does all this hatred and violence continue? Why?
And why in my hometown, which is so liberal and tolerant it's almost a joke?
Keep us posted, KN.

I just got email from my church triathlon team (Unitarian) that one of the three critically injured women is from my church and the triathlon team. She was shot in the abdomen, and it sounds like she was shot more than once. She is a member of the UU church board, so is well known to the congregation.
One of our ministers (and the leader of our UU triathlon team) is in contact with the hospital.

This world is in my thoughts and prayers on a daily basis.....
I just cannot understand why so many horrific things happen -- it seems as though whenever I open the paper or turn on the TV......there are so many sad, sad, tragic stories...:(
