I set a goal of wanting to do a 50 mile trip ...now I know that is not much for some of you but....I DID IT. :D I am so happy. I am on vacation so I got up early and rode. I did 50.2 miles in 3 hours 13 min, my avg was 15.6 mph. Had to share :D :D

Way to go! You rock for sticking to your goal - and on vacation no less (all the more reason we should take more vacations, right?).

Keep up the good work and keep us posted on your progress.

That's great!! I'll never forget the first time I rode 50 miles- it was on a mountain bike at Ididaride. 50 miles is a huge milestone!!

50 miles at 15 mph average is **not** a slacker's goal! That means an awful lot of that time you were going faster than that.

Most of the folks in our bike club would be glad to be able to do that - but would be wiser to shoot for 13 mph. My first 4 metrics were at averages between 11 and 13 mph.

Congratulations!!! That is so wonderful. I can't wait until I get to the point I even feel like I could begin to set that kind of goal.
Big Kudo's to you what a wonderful feeling you must have for setting and reaching that kind of goal.

:D Congrats! I have been riding for 2 years and that speed would still be a good ride for myself for 50 miles. Great job!:D :D :D

I've been thinking about a new goal...fishdr...I think next goal is the metric century...isn't that 62 miles, I'll have to check? Ultimately I want to do a century. (of course I am always working on ways to get up the hills quicker, I think I do ok on the flats but those damn hills slow me way down!) :(
