Nice cool commute in, but not looking forward to the 103+ degrees on the way home. I might have to join the dog in his wading pool tonight!

Just planned to go to the bank and run a couple of errands so didn't put on bike shorts, did check tires and wear gloves.

Ran into a cross country cyclist (we're on the adventure cycling map as a major bike shop stop) A 23 year old from NJ. He was wondering about a cheap place to eat. I offered to take him for lunch - to visit about his trip and discuss the route as he was planning on vearing off the AC route.

Rode with him out of town so he could get on the right HWY. Logged 16 unexpected and entertaining miles. (Wouldn't have wanted much further with no bike shorts and limited water supply) he'll be able to do 75 miles today easy, he has a 20 mph tailwind all the way.

wonderful commute in, likewise worried about going home uphill in 90+ degree heat!

The temps were in the mid to upper 80's, skies overcast (thank goodness) and the humidity levels sky high. I rode a new route today, very scenic and very little traffic to deal with as I explored a new section of my county. I was looking for a 45 mile route for a ride I'm hosting next week for the LBC and in the end this new route ended up being 48.5 miles. I think I'm going to use it even though it is 3.5 miles over what I put on the schedule. So with my commute to the starting point and the new route I got in an enjoyable 50 mile ride. Along the way the skies even managed to offer a refreshing shower.

I did my first 50 mile ride of the year. 37 miles was my last longest ride. Sit bones are a bit sore and I'm tired, but I survived. Not sure I'll be able to sit on that saddle again tomorrow though. It was a perfect day for a ride. Temps in the high 70's and little wind.

Way to go Sandy ! ! ! sounds like a great day. I am sure you'll be back on the bike tomorrow if the conditions are great again :)
