View Full Version : Early Wear in Pearl Izumi Microsensor?

Back in April or May I picked up a pair of Pearl Izumi Microsensor shorts. I've worn them <30 times this summer, washed then line dried. The inside of the thighs is wearing out - lots of fuzz buildup. The tag inside says Spring 05, so it looks like they were on the shelf a while at Performance.

I'm not sure if I should complain to Performance, or write to the Mfg to see what (if anything) can/should be done. My three other pair (2 ultrasensor, 1 sugar) don't have this problem.

That said, the chamois in the 05 Micro get's the thumbs down ~ really want to toss these from the rotation :p

I had this happen with the 2005 Ultrasensor (http://forums.teamestrogen.com/showthread.php?t=7386); got a hole in that same place. I've NEVER worn a hole in shorts before. Luckily I'd purchased them at REI, and was able to return them (they were not mendable). Seems to me that the material isn't as durable as it used to be. Unlike you, I loved that chamois for really long rides and am really missing it. :(

I'd go to Performance first. Then hit up PI. Good luck!

Thanks Yellow :) I like my ultrasensor chamoi much better - the 05micro has a nasty habit of bunching up & creeping uncomfortably. They're turning me into a MLB player, as much as it needs adjusted
