I came home this morning to find a rain soaked note on my back walk. Here is what it said, "Dear Miss Marcie, Can you go 2 miles with me on our bikes? Come to my house to tell me your answer. Love Sarah" Now how do you say no to such a request. Sarah will be entering 2nd grade next month and is a wonderful young lady. She was not home this afternoon so I left her a note telling her I would be honored to ride with her and Saturday would be a great day to ride. I think I'll take her up to the school where I teach and we can ride a mile out and a mile back on a very low traffic road. It was a heartwarming start to my day to say the least.

How cute! 2 miles for a kid is probably like 25 miles to us!

That is so cute.

I love how kids will give you directions as to how to respond: "Come to my house to tell me the answer." One of my letters from camp referred me back to the "scheduel" that Em had made for us as to when to send her letters or packages. "I hope you send me letters and some packages. Look at the scheduel."

I'm going to be keeping an eye on my niece tomorrow while my sister sets up for my niece's fourth birthday party.

The last time I went round to my sisters I rode there, and when I arrived my niece went running into her room to put her shoes on so we could go riding together - unfortunately it was dark so I've been promising her that we would ride our bikes next time I saw her.

I've spoken to her on the phone twice this week and both times she has been excited about riding our bikes together. Given her age we will probably just ride around the basketball court - but it will be fun.

I think me and my bf are the only adults she knows who ride regularly.

I remember taking ds out of kindergarten on his 6th birthday and us doing a ride (probly 5 miles plus) I took a photo and he kept it by his bed for ages.
Btw He is now 19 and brought me back a litre bottle of Bombay Sapphire from his week's holiday on a Greek Island.

I just love the imagination and creativity of kids, especially other peoples because mine have been sassy teenagers lately:eek:
