What's up with UCI deciding at the last moment that Floyd Landis' aerobars are at the "wrong" angle and must be lowered? Why didn't UCI mention this yesterday, or the day before? It has been no secret that Landis' aeros were at a very different angle. Even I knew that. Floyd lost time when his aeros shifted and he couldn't steer and had to get a new bike. He still did well, though.
Also, what's up with Levi? He was off his game today. And poor Bobby Julich, that's a bummer.

I feel so bad for Julich. CSC is really been taking it on the chin this year.
I think the officials walk a fine line of being pen heads and just plain idiots.

I totally agree! They knew what Landis had and should have made their ruling much earlier. Even the commentators where talking about it this morning, comparing riding postitions of Landis & Zabrinskie.

Can you imagine what Floyd's time might have been if he hadn't had to change bikes along the course? To stop in the middle of a time trial and break your rythm like that, and then come in only 1 minute behind, shows incredible will and strength.
And what about T-Mobile? They now have six riders in the top 20 of the GC! This really is turning out to be an unpredictable, sometimes unpleasant, definitely exciting Tour.
And, of course, Schmalz about knocked me out of my chair today: "They’re showing Thor SMASH! He looks like a bull humping a steak on his TT bike." I can't decide whether to laugh at that one or not.

Yeah, that was a bad break for Floyd. He did amazingly regardless, but he may have been robbed of the yellow jersey today.
And what happened to my man George Hincapie today!? He was 8th in a similar time trial last TdF, so I picked him to win the stage, yet he placed 24th (I think). Wow. Does this mean that Salvodeli (I am sure that's spelled wrong) will be the Team Discovery "leader"? I keep hearing them talk about how Team Discovery doesn't have a clear leader, and I guess I'd assumed it would be George, coming in, and he started with a bang, but now I'm just a wee bit worried. Hopefully he can make up some time in the mountains.
Go George go!!!

Gorgeous George will get 'em in the mountains. Just a few more days...
He did seem off his game though. The whole tour just seems a little weird this year.

Yeah, I am hoping we'll hear more tonight about what happened to him. Looks like he might be out of contention after today. Sad! :(

I picked Floyd to win the tour, but George is my favorite. I want to see him back in yellow! From the first shots of him on the course DH said he just didn't seem to be going hard. We thought maybe he was conserving energy (the old Lance style of TT), but sadly he was just having bad day.
And I agree, how can they make an adjustment to Floyd's bike at the last minute? Did he know ride the prologue in that position? He might have won had he not had the bike mishap.
It was just awful to see Julich's crash over and over. I squealed (sp?) in agony when I saw that. It was just so horrible. I was glad he walked to the ambulance, but it is really a shame in the twilight of his career.
That was one weird day in the tour. I don't think Phil and Paul quite knew what the make of it either.
