Well Ladies, my breast biopsy came out totally normal - just a fat lump called a lipoma, totally benign. I have lost 15 lbs so far since mid May on my diabetic/low fat diet, and I owe a lot of it to biking, swimming and other exercises.

I feel great, all my medical problems are fading away totally... blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol....fatigue, pain, etc....going, going gone!!!

Having toe surgery tomorrow, (to fix a hammer toe I was told in the past my insurance wouldn't cover but it does!) so biking is out of the schedule for a week or so, but then I am right back in the saddle. I also tore my Plantarius muscle and tendon a couple weeks ago swimming too vigorously and then tore a chunk of flesh out of the ball of my left food watermarching without swim shoes...my doc says, "you're not Jane Fonda, so quit acting like her or you'll tear out the muscle in your other leg!!" hahahahaha

Been in Physical therapy for two weeks to fix the knee pain and got scolded by my doc for "riding through the pain just after the injury...apparently the wrong thing to do for that kind of injury....:o Boy, did it swell and hurt for these last two weeks. Hello bag of frozen peas, goodbye biking for a while.

Best news of all: for our fifth wedding anniversary DH and I bought a large two year old Motorhome, an Allegro, with all the bells and whistles of luxury and are in hog heaven with tons more room and storage. We are committed now to 20 years of Rving..... (should we be committed to an insane asylum instead?) It's quite a step up from our 27 foot new travel trailer we bought last year after we sold both our homes in Wisconsin.

All the more reason to be joyful and happy, I say. Being 62 is wonderful and I may not be Jane Fonda but I am Melinda, she who bikes and lives well!!!

Eeeeehaaaaaaa! :D

Glad to hear you are ok. Enjoy your new motorhome, sounds like you will have a ball.

LOL Jane Fonda - I think being you sounds like a lot more fun.:D

You are so right, being us is so much better than being anybody else, even with our flaws, foibles, and funny butts. I love being me so much now I think I am conceited..... thank you so much for the attagirls, Trek, I love all the TE gals who are so supportive like you are.

Peddling my butt is my favorite sport...... :D

I'm glad to hear that your biopsy ended up being only lipoma as well. I had a lumpectomy to remove a lump several years ago that ended up being lipoma too. Unfortunately I have the things all over my body and some are quite large or layered in places. I currently have several lumps in my right breast that they are pretty sure are lipoma also. We're just keeping an eye on them.

So good to hear the news. I've got a lipoma on my butt which hasn't been a problem until now because I get a weekly injection. I have to keep reminding Bubba where it is -- and it doesn't like to be poked and prodded. I'm going to have to get it out but it'll keep me off the bike! Ack!

Thanks for the update.

Yea! I'm glad your biopsy was ok:) I hope I can be as much of a hot babe as you sound like you are when I am 62, that's for sure!;)

Hooray!

Now, don't take this wrong, but I think it's kinda cool that you got a couple "athletic" injuries! You rock!:D

Woo-hoo--so glad to hear your good news about the biopsy! And hey, I'd be dancin' in the street if I lost 15 lbs--keep up the good work there. Hope your injuries heal soon and you're back on the bike quickly. :)

Well, being injured sucks...but better being injured at 62 from exercise... instead of falling down because you are so weak!

I think it totally rocks that you are 62 and still rocking it! I can only hope to be like you when I grow up (OK, I'm 33, but... ya know what I mean). :D

Wow, I am awed that any of you are impressed by what I am doing. To me I am just a clutzy old broad trying to get in shape and become healthier. Guess I can be proud of my biking scars and exercise owies..never thought of those boo-boos as "cool!" What, me - cool?

My biggest challenge, (I am told constantly by my physical therapists), is that I overdo everything in my enthusiasm... if I could harness that enthusiasm I'd be a female Lance!! Sure do miss my bike right now but this toe operation will take all the foot pain out of biking for me, so I am tickled to get it behind me now. :D Don't worry about us not taking our bikes with us as we RV - I got DH shopping now for a better bike for him, he's so hooked!
For us having our bikes, however cheap they are, is essential.

Wish my WiFi was better, because it's lousy sometimes and it's kept me off the boards here at TE. I wanna know what everybody's doing and saying!! :(

Thank you, thank you all so much for the input and kudos!!!

Thanks for the update, Melinda....glad things are going so well!
Hope you see many wonderful places in your new RV....DH and I have plans to get one when we retire and live on the road. What a great way to bike in new places!
Keep on!

Great news, Melinda! My SIL had breast cancer a few years ago... I'm glad you're not having to go down that road!

Keep on doing the things you love and listen to your doctor!! ;)
