Hour commute into work. No 'Sculpted Calves' guy, but did see two ducks, three crows and heard a pheasant.

Supposed to meet Tiffanie at her house at 5:30 a.m. but I was a few minutes late. Had a hard time getting up this morning after being out late at the fireworks show down at the pier and only having a few hours of sleep. Tiff was being a clean bike snob and didn't want any sand in her bike, so we hit the streets today instead of the bike path. She planned us a route complete with hills, no bike lanes, a freeway off ramp at the top of a hill and crazy morning drivers. We got over a lot of our fears this morning so I suggested that while we were at it, we should get over our fear of riding on PCH. Not only riding on PCH, but riding on PCH through the construction zone where they're building a tidal inlet from the ocean to the Bolsa Chica Wetlands...including a short section with absolutely no shoulder. It was a great ride...25.something in all. Came home and my little ones were just waking up for the day, so we all had some chocolate milk :) Going to bed early tonight, we have a 50 miler with lots 'o hills planned for 5:00 a.m. tomorrow!

:(
I just went to the gym this am to do my weights and extended stretching session. No sculpted calves there either. Lots of people there to socialize, not exercise! :p

Did a short ride with my bike friday, who is in serious need of a Front derailler adjustment.

Our morning started a bit weird. When pumping my tires I identified that I have a flat on my front one. So, we had to start with changing a tire. Then, 2 miles into the ride, my husband got a flat in the back. But, luckily, we were done with flats after that.
We rode 22 miles - our usual trip. We were holding pretty decent speed all the way: between 22 - 26 mph. It was very humid and fortunately much cooler this morning in Phoenix. By the time we got home it started raining. Perfect timing!

No I didn't! I forgot to mention how you did the most graceful almost fall but caught yourself before you went down all the way. Wish my first fall was that nice. ;)

Finally more bearable temperatures here today. I don't know how you ladies survive the tropical heat and humidity some of you live in. I tried to work on speed on my ride today. Went along the river path to the next village and back pedaling as fast as I possibly could (or at least tried to), then found a quiet stretch of road and did some interval training. Pedal as fast as I can one way then spin my legs out coming back. I did 10 repeats before getting too bored to do any more. Now it is time for a stretch and some vegetable soup.

Ah yes. My almost fall. Thanks to the small gravely(sp?) pebbles all over the curbside.

I decided to ride the club ride this evening. I did not feel up to the 30 mile route (I really don't like this route to be perfectly honest) so I opted to the 15 mile one instead. I was worried how my legs would feel after the grueling 90 miler I undertook yesterday but after the first couple of miles they responded well. I decided not to push too hard to simply find a nice gentle pace and have some fun. This route is a great route and I have a feeling in the future I will select it again and again and again. I got in 18 miles, rode some new roads and enjoyed myself.

Just the commute today. I wanted to go for a longer ride, but decided going to a bike shop (lust lust lust) and running errands was probably crucial.
