Silly post but I was here every day for about a month and then my life ate me. I was thinking about forums I've disapeared from and really missed this one.
I've been house sitting.. While I've been out here there's been alot of stuff to do. Also been taking advantage of the new <temporary> place:) Class for summer also just started. And I'm also looking for a regular full time job. Everything just sort of condenses into a blackhole that instead of sucking up matter sucks up time. I missed this forum though. And so many people here were so nice to me. I've been entranced by sattelite tv while out here. Dozens of movies I've been wanting to watch for so long all available at the push of a button. -swoon- if it wasn't for this forum that's probably all I would have done out here. Instead I alternate my slothful movie watching and book reading ways by mixing it up with riding on trails, road, kayaking, and running while out here. Sadly.. I'll actually run the 5 miles to town to get a candy bar. but hey, at least these days I'm actually running and not just driving to the store. ;) thanks everyone for making a difference in my life.

Lise, every time I see a msg from you with your avatar it makes me think of my cousin. She has a little sausage dog. Your avatar has used it's magical Dachshund Powers to inspire family contact. Funny how the world works.

Never UnderEstimate The Dachshund. They Will Rule The World.

Yeah, I love that line "run like a dachshund". Naturally. :p

<--- Chili dog says "woof, where are the cookies?"

And welcome back. :)

Welcome back, joyfulgirl! (and I love your nick!)

Ah, the perils of life and its eating of us.....from one who knows.

I, too, have been eaten by life, but, in that miraculous way that things always turn out as they should, it's getting to be grand!

After 10 1/2 years in our previous house, and too many years in our previous town, I got a transfer to the corporate office in a way better location (ever heard of Canada's Okanagan valley? we're now in Vernon!), where the biking community is large and varied, the weather is hot and fabulous, there are lakes everywhere, the scenery is beautiful, the people are friendly, the new job is fabulous, etc etc.

Getting here was a bit of a challenge, but it's been worth it! I started the job in February, and we moved into a house as a family in our new town two weeks ago. Whew. It was a good 10 pounds stressful being apart for that long, being away from my husband of 18 years, and our 2 border collies and 2 cats, but that, also, is temporary. We're just about organized enough to get some rides in, but the heat is something we're just not used to, so....walks with the dogs to the dog park, and walks or rides to work is about it until the weekend when we can get out in the morning. ah, but it's so good. And it's been so worth it!

I really have missed the girls here, and felt how I haven't really had anything to contribute as I've been so far away from my bike.....but the forum as a whole inspired me throughout all of that....reminding me that there are plenty more difficult things to go through, that there's a huge group of women full of support for me any time I need it, that's there's a whole group of women who could use my support once in awhile, and there's a huge fount of knowledge to tap into when I'm at a loss for whatever question.

There's nothing like being made so welcome in such a fabulous place!

Thank you, ladies!

And don't forget the joyful part in your name, girl!

Namaste,
~T~
