some of you might know Anne McSweeney, a great bicyclist:
Anne M. McSweeney, 44, of Bend, her passenger Gayle A. Vezina, 42, of New York and Teri Johnson, 50, of Silver Springs, Nev., all died Saturday afternoon in a crash on Oregon 97, according to state police. Troopers say a southbound Audi driven by McSweeney passed three vehicles near milepost 196, then overcorrected when it moved back into its lane. It slid broadside into the northbound lane and was hit by a 1988 Toyota Odyssey motor home. Both McSweeney, who recently moved to Bend from Sammamish, Wash., and Vezina were wearing seat belts. The driver of the motor home, Erik Johnson, 57, of Silver Springs, Nev., was taken to St. Charles Medical Center in Bend for treatment of injuries that troopers said were not life-threatening. Teri Johnson was a passenger in the RV. Further details were unavailable Sunday evening. The accident remains under investigation.
