Two bikes in one box.

That's everything for both bikes, except saddles and front fenders. Those are in the bottom of one suitcase. The rear fenders went into the box after we took the picture.

Cindy's bike is the green one with red handlebars. Mine is orange with black handlebars.

Bob is ready for his airplane ride.

Is that a small Tri-All case??? I am absolutely stunned and amazed that you were able to get two bikes in!! Awesome!

(Good luck getting them in on the return trip. Things always seem to grow... )

Bon voyage! I was going to wish you "bon ton roulet" but found that does not mean what I've thought all this time. :o

Will we be getting posts from the road? Or anything on crazy guy?

The case is a Velo Safe II. I have pictures so I can repack it. Plus we packed it, then we unpacked it and I packed it by myself. The hardest bit was actually my handlebars. I have a threaded stem. Cindy's bars were much easier to make fit.

I don't know about posts from the road. I'm not bringing my laptop, so it will depend on computer availability when we're not camping. Maybe Thom will update you every now and then. :) Since we'll be talking every couple of days.

Um, where you going? How long? I somehow missed this bit of news. I'm jealous -- I've got serious wanderlust happening lately.

Flying to Portland, ME. My sister is driving us to Acadia. We'll be there for a day. Then taking the CAT to Nova Scotia where we'll ride the southern bit of the island - essentially Yarmouth, Annapolis Royal, Kentville, Halifax, Lunenburg, Yarmouth. And a side trip to Kejimkujik National Park. 15 days in Nova Scotia.

Oh, that's gorgeous country! I honeymooned there almost 25 years ago, so I'm sure there are some differences, but I hope it's not too different. Good for you--have a lovely time!

If I wish you guys flat tires is that like saying "break a leg" before a play? In case it isn't smooth pavement and tailwinds. Have a great time. Jones.

Take pictures!

(What's the second pic? And who is Bob?)

Bob is the hunky mechanic they're bringing along - he'll be giving them backrubs and serving mojitos at rest stops.

err, no, it's the BOB trailer that V. will be towing - that's the 2nd photo.

Why didn't anybody tell me that part? I'd have taken up cycling years ago!

Have fun! I'll be sort of near you towards the end of your trip - I'll be in St. Johns Newfoundland. I'll wave as I fly over :)

Good luck repacking the bikes! Travel safe.

Let's hope that Thom comes through with a little bit of news! And yes, the photos should be really interesting.

I agree- a trailer sounds much better than panniers!

OK, a little news. They got to sit on the tarmac for over an hour in NY before they took off for Portland, ME. Arrived in Portland 2 or 3 hours late. That'll teach my sister in law, who got to sit at the airport and wait for them, to get a cell phone like the rest of the modern world.

I'm waiting for a report on how bike assembly goes.

Thom, haven't you heard us discussing your calves? You're just fishing for compliments.;)
