I was wondering is anyone was going to do the Livestong ride in Orange County this weekend.
I've volunteered as a bike tech, so if you're on the ride and see a chick under the "I Martin" tent, come say Hi!

I'm a volunteer again this year for LAF here in Portland, Oregon. The ride is July 31st. I'm on the last sag stop! Yay!
Last year I volunteered to hand out ride packets, what fun! Nike and LAF are really great to work with.
I had totally planned to do the ride this year but they moved the date up two months and it didn't give me enough time for training and raising the funds, maybe next year, sigh.
I know you'll have a fun time, it's kinda cool being on the other side of the ride event for a change and good for you for volunteering it takes a lot of people to keep these events going.

So if I were to decide to ride the Austin event (gulp) how do you collect moneys/pledges? It seems like when I donated to a friend's 4-Day Walk for the Cure, I went to a website and donated and she never had to deal with collections. Anybody know how it works with Livestrong?

I was sent a link to set up a web page for Livestrong donations and I'm volunteering not actually doing the event. I didn't do it, lazy of me but I rather guess it's the same as The Walk for the Cure I've donated to them before and it's pretty slick.
When I did a charity ride for LSA I sent out letters via the old snail mail way but way back then the Internet wasn't as big so it was the most efficient way and very surprising how fast the donations came in!

If you can do it on the web, that rocks.
Wow, I think I'm going to do this. Better find the right place to get more advice ... see you in another topic!
