What is your favorite Bra? Mine this year for workouts is this champion bra http://www.championcatalog.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ProductDisplay?prnbr=CH1560&cgnbr=2051000000 I bought two and they are really nice. The gel strap on them is really nice too. When I wear my camelback the straps don't bother me. And it dries really fast! So what is your favorite this year.

i love my champion one too. though i have a different one: http://www.championcatalog.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ProductDisplay?prnbr=CH2022&cgnbr=2011000000

i have two of them. absolutely love them. no pain or movement at all.

i hate when the bottom elastic rolls under so annoying and uncomfortable. this one it doesn't move at all and wearing my strap for my heart rate monitor isn't uncomfortable. there is nothing like finding an all around good sports bra.

My current fave bra is a Champion too, but it's this model:

I like this bra so much I bought several of them (on sale!) so I can wear them all the time--and I do.

Love the Wacoal CW-X

http://www.terrybicycles.com/detail.html?c=Apparel&sc=Basics&item_no=1120

Once I got too small for my old one, I ordered a smaller size because I love it so much. The too big one is really too big, but I keep it for emergencies...

I've worn the CW-X for everything. Even wear it swimming with black Under Armor shorts, and call it my swimsuit! Dries fast. Planning to wear it in the Danskin Triathlon, too.

Chickwhorips, good question--I noticed that the online copy mentions "shaping," but as far as I can see, this bra doesn't do any kind of shaping, unless you consider the double-layer design and underwire a kind of shaping. But other than that, no shaping, nope. But I've never once fallen out of it--and I'm not exactly flat-chested, if you kwim.

C--and I'm not exactly flat-chested, if you kwim.

Which brings me to my question - any bras good for us full figured gals? I've never found an underwire that didnt' poke me in the middle of the breast, and the sports bras without them give me the uni-boob look. I've clicked on the links so kindly provided, and, for example, the L on one was 36B - I need a 36D.

Great thread, though - I'll be looking for a Champion to try, I think.

i have the same problem with every day bras. (i wear a 34D.)

i have this one from victoria secrets that i love and is so comfortable: http://www2.victoriassecret.com/commerce/application/prodDisplay/?namespace=productDisplay&origin=onlineProductDisplay.jsp&event=display&prnbr=UP-163743&page=1&cgname=OSBRPBBVBRA

I've heard a lot of good things about Enell, but never wore one.

Before the CWX I wore Moving Comforts all the time. There were a couple that didn't give me uni-boob when I was a larger size, but I can't remember the style names. None had underwires. My ribcage doesn't match the model for most bra manufacturers, so wires never seem to hit me right.

There were some really good bra reveiws written up in the "Apparel" threads.

Ooh, I like that victorias secret full coverage one! Might have to go check it out.

hmmm 38D here and I hate the Uniboob that most sports bras give me. I have several different ones I wear, but none that I love. Maybe some day. I found a Hanes underwire, no padding that I like for everyday..I have about 5 of them but they are getting old and I don't think they make these anymore...:(

I *hate* Title 9 - but they sure have intriguing looking bras and descriptions of them.

I have 3 Enells, which represents about $160 worth of brassiere. I wear 36D, and have uniboob and bounce when running with every single other sports bra I've worn. I bought a size 1 Enell (only in Enell am I a small!). It's ultimately too tight over my ribcage, and rubs on my xyphoid (tip of my sternum). The size 2 is a little large across my breasts, but better for my ribs. I put body glide under the bottom hooks so the fabric seam doesn't rub too much. Again, I can't believe women pay $$$ and go through surgery to get this much boobage. It's ridiculous at times!

TsPoet, why do you hate Title 9? I got the two larger Enells from them, and the experience was OK. The recorded voice on their "hold" message is beyond obnoxious, but other than that, it was fine.

1. because I’m capricious
2. because I’ve lost a lot of weight and went from a size 18 to a 12 and from every other source I can now wear a L, but XL from Title 9 are still too small. If they are women’s specific company, how come they are forcing women to be tiny? I exercise (a lot) I’m in better shape than most petite’s I know – what is Title 9 saying to me?
3. because they are expensive for cloths I’ll never be able to wear.
4. (and this one might start a flame war) I'm not sure I really approve of their namesake.

But mostly it's #2.

Another vote for Champion but this time it is the http://www.championcatalog.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce/ProductDisplay?prnbr=CH029&cgnbr=2011000000. I wear these to bike and run - oh heck, I wear them all the time:) . They are comfortable and as you can see they have a variety of colors - which to me is key, I hate being stuck in plain white.

For normal everyday bras, I wear these, too, and really like them. They are soft, comfortable, and the underwire works well. Before that I was wearing just the standard cotton ones, but these ones seem better and longer lasting (so far). I don't fit in them like the model does, though ;)

For sports bras, I have a Hind Nexus right now (bought at TE of course), before that I had a champion jogbra that was simple but low tech (I couldn't actually run in it, but it worked great for biking). Going to try the CWX soon, I hope, the Nexus is too thick under my trisuit and I'm not sure how good it'll be at drying quickly.

Why do you hate Title 9? I recently do, too. I love their catalogs, and have never had any problems ordering, but I HATE HATE HATE that they do not include brand names. Brand names, and the reputation of a clothing company, and past experience with other items from that company greatly influences my future shopping decisions. I'm done- the catalogs go in the trash now without being looked at because this annoys me so much!!!

My favorite bra right now is the Patagonia Mesh Bra for cycling, only, in the summer, it's too heavy. Right now I'm just wearing tanks with built-in shelf bras because they are the coolest.

My favorite every day bra is the Patagonia Tiny Bra.

I don't wear a sports bra when I ride because my regular bras give me the support I need. This is my mostest favoritest bra ever in the history of the world. Full price is $24.00...it's reasonable too. And right now they are on sale! They also come in a lace trimmed model. It has great support, is soft and comfy, the underwire doesn't poke, and there is a second "stay" behind the underwire, just under the arm, for added support.

Here's the link. I know it is lane bryant, but I love their bras. And they make them in fun colors. White and off white are usually my only choice in other bras.

I fall out of bras (and alas, I'm falling out of that one again, but when I'm at the smaller part of the monthly cycle again, hopefully...) The Champion double dry does a really good job for me. I usually don't have to wear it cycling - there are some nice Bali full figure bras that I can wear for regular stuff - but I can actually run in the Champion. IT's also not so many laters of stuff, so I wore it under my suit for the mini-triathlons (which is why I tried it - my usual double-bagged armor would have dragged me to the bottom of the pool).
I don't do underwire, as a rule. (I have discovered the hard way that you should never jump rope in an underwire bra. I'm just glad I never had to explain those wounds...) (I'm 36D or 38D, depending...)

I would like a simple cotton everyday bra. Not one I wear riding. It has to be full coverage. I am a B cup but for some reason I still fall out of bra's that are demi cup!

at least i know i'm not alone with falling out of my bras.

you would think with all the "technology" now that they would make a comfortable bra that prevents all our problems that we have and still looks cute.

Well it sounds like we all want something that keeps us in, gives us shape(no uniboob) has compfy straps and cloth. No underwire, support. Am I leaving anything out?

i know there are a few people around here that sew.... maybe we can get them in on this.

now is the time i would've paid more attention to sewing when i was a kid. my stepmom was great at sewing. i just tried to make cool designs on the material with my sewing machine, never made anything.

I'm currently 34D+
(I even had reduction surgery from DDD to C, and oddly, bra manufacturers changed the labelling so what was a C cup is now a D cup... go figure! I still have the old C cup for proof!).

For cycling I actually like the Pearl Izumi schimmels or their other sports "bras".

But for more active endeavors, like running or volleyball, my current favorite is by Brooks Pro-Support--and comes in band and cup sizes for a great fit.

For day wear--well, what's my favorite is not longer available the next time I go shopping (or the fabric changed or cut changed slightly to "improve" it), and varies by what I'm planning to wear over it. Have better luck w/ the european brands--they just seem to have better styles that fit well, too. E.g. Chantelle, Triumph, Freya... www.figleaves.com is a good place to check.

For cycling, I'm a fan of the Champion line...they have several styles I wear, and they're all comfortable. For everyday wear, I really like Victoria's Secret Very Sexy. I am smallish and saggyish (real word???), and I like the way they actually make me look like I have something on my chest other than bumps. They make a very nice all cotton bra also, that is not padded, and is full coverage.. quite comfortable too.

Yeah, Veloputt
I have a Triumph Tri-Action.
It is so nice and seamless with stretchy straps and velcro for easy adjustment. Best of all it is a front-y
Never figured out how to do a bra up at the back. :o Also have had long periods of limited arm movement ( mastectomy and a horrendous tractor accident) and fronties helped me stay independent.
I also think all the "reverse engineering" of seams, 3 sets of hooks and eyes, and overlapping fabric just ruins the asthetics of that beautiful expanse of a woman's back.

veloputt

Guess I've just gotten used to rear hooks as that was the only option I was exposed to nearly 30 years ago when I started wearing bras!

Besides the looks, hooks on the back can be painful, too. I have to be careful w/ where the hook hits on the backbone, else are a literal pain doing situps!

I've found a Walcoal w/ front closure and has some stiffness to the cups for the nice "t-shirt" look w/out feeling like armour plating, and a nice and comfortable strap design in the back... It's currently one of my favorites for "day" use.

Front zipper sports bras usually don't work for me, but I'm wearing out a Pearl Izuma front zip sports bra that was nice that it had a locking zipper (as w/out a lock, I've found some creep down on their own accord), and good strap adjustments.

On the CW-X, Terry is out of their Large size so I went hunting elsewhere. I also found a "D Cup" version for the larger ladies:

http://www.paragonsports.com/Paragon/Shop?DSP=40000&PCR=1:100:1001:10026:100253:1000662&IID=1775-165002D&Key=CWX_Sport_Support_Bra_DCup_Womens_Medium_Support_Sport_Bras_Running_Womens_Clothing

Unfortunately it only comes in Small and Medium at that store, which means you 36/38D ladies might still be out of luck. :(

I leave 'em latched and throw 'em over my head, tho' I am pretty good at groping in the dark. (I'm not surpirsed there isn't a yoga move for doing that...)

Let's see, how about memory foam? Like they use for mattresses?
