Ha! - and I thought the cut-out thing was a recent invention. I like the saddle from the 1890's with the wicker webbed cut-out in the center.

I remember the Unicanitor saddle. It was quite popular for awhile in the 70s. Also remember the Ideal from way back when. And the saddle with a sewup tire in back held on by a toestrap - I did that myself for a long time, but the toe strap tended to wear the sidewalls of the tire unless you put a sock around it first.

Thanks for sharing the site. That was a fun trip down memory lane. And to many places not in my memory.

I remember that Ayatollah Khomeni saddle...

What a fun website! Thanks!

Check out the chainring archive on the same site. They've got old Campy, Dura Ace, T.A., Stronglight (my old crank), Suntour Superbe Pro (my current crank), a gorgeous Colnago. Also some really funky stuff, like a spoked spider, a 10-armed spider, a front freewheel, and cranks with bent arms. But don't look at the guy with a chainring coming out of his head (that gross!).

Teams of women riding rollers. One team in bathing suits. One woman doing a strip tease while riding in a 1948 photo. This stuff is amazing.
