View Full Version : Seat Bag recommendations?

I don't know whether it's my improved pedaling form or the new saddle, but my old seat bag now seems to be hitting the backs of my thighs--it's maddening. It's probably too big, too--there seems to be lots of extra space in there, even with multi-tool, spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, and cell phone.

So I have two questions:
1. Can any of you recommend a seat bag that you like and that doesn't hit the backs of your thighs?
2. What else do you carry in your seat bag (besides maybe a few dollars)? Or do you carry less?
Thanks!

SKnot has a Timbuc2 seat bag that lies along the seatpost and under the seat. Seems to stay nicely out of the way.

I use a pannier for everything and all the time, but I might borrow his seat bag for the Danskin.

I found that even the large Timbuk2 seatbag is too small for basic repair stuff and won't accommodate any discarded clothing layers (like a jacket). I bought a banana bag, which works fine.

I used to have the same problem (bag hitting the inside / back of my thighs). I found a Giant microbag that seems to fit all my stuff and doesn't hit any part of me. I carry a tube, levers, multitool, a few bandaids, money, credit card - and that fills the bag. No room for a cell phone, though.
