Lovely. But.... "it's not designed for loaded touring...."
Are you capable of riding without bringing the kitchen sink...?

I think it would handle what I bring on a double. But now I'm questioning why I think I need a new bike. :p

And it's red!
I don't know why Thom tells me about these things. I get all excited and think, "Yeah, new bike. I'll set it up to be really light. Amy's bike is super light. Yeah!!! I'll climb wicked fast."
Then HE says, "Do you really need a new bike?"

Get the bike. You need a spare one in case your main ride is in the hospital. Besides, after all your hard work over the past several months, you deserve a reward.

1. because you will ride it
2. because you want it
3. because you always need a spare of something you use regularly
4. because it'll make you happy
I like to calculate $/mi - I currently own 2 bikes. One cost me $0.61/mi the other (newer and more expensive one) $1.67/mi - both of those numbers are dropping by the week. Makes them pretty inexpensive, though.

You know that's a really good way to look it. That is how I calculate the cost of my very expensive shorts. They are down to 30 cents a mile. My bike is currently 29 cents (I typed dents at first!) a mile. And that's only after 3 years and 3 of months on the bike.
