Hi, I'll be touring for over a week this summer in the hot midwest and hate to think of wearing socks and regular biking shoes. I would love some suggestions on good cycling sandals (the type I can walk on, too). I have browsed some web sites, but this hasn't helped me.

Thanks!

Look for the thread, in apparel, about Shimano sandals. I have the 2005's, which I love. I've worn them on several rides of over 100 miles. The 2006's have three straps rather than two, so I thought I'd try the two-strap version while it was still available, but will eventually have to switch to three-strap. I see them (sandals) on long-distance cyclists all the time!! On lots of people!! In my cycling group, it's not unusual for the sandal-wearers to outnumber the shoe wearers.

I'm not going back to shoes until winter forces me to, _if_ it does!! Looking forward to my first rain storm with them, too!!

Thanks very much. I read everything in the thread you suggested, and it's all very helpful. Hugs to your sweet pigeon. :)
