I'm eyeballing new sunglasses. :D I was considering the Tifosi Gavia, metallic pink shades... they'd match my Giant OCR1 with the pink swoosh on it. Though, the silver would match the bike and anything else I wore them with... but that's only one small detail.
Then I noticed the Tifosi Slip Phototec glasses... same price, silver color. I'm intrigued by those... photo shading making it unnessecary to switch lenses.
Have any of you used these? My birthday is coming up, they'd be a happy birthday to me gift. I have a $10 off coupon to use at a bike shop in a nearby town.

I have the Tifosi Slips (interchangeable lenses) and LOVE them! I tried seemingly endless kinds (brands and styles) of sunglasses and ended up with the slips. I was playing around with the pink Gavia's in the LBS just Monday while I was waiting for my bike to be fixed. They're cute!
The slips give fantastic coverage and block the wind well (I have contacts). I have to remind myself that I have them on - you don't see the frames or edges - it's wonderful! Changing the lenses is a breeze, too. The optical clarity is great. They stayed on when I crashed last week.
I also bought a casual pair (metal frame). Same lenses, just different shape. They hold up well. I dropped them on concrete - no scratches!
The best thing is they are great glasses and won't break the bank.
I highly recommend!

I've been wearing Tifosi Envy for a year now and I love them! I just ordered the Quam 1.5 in pink to go with my new bike, but I still love my Envy's. I've really beaten them up pretty good and they still look new. The lenses are easy to change and the three I have really cover all the conditions I've ridden in so far. :) I even coated the clear ones with RainX and they rock!
I know you said you have a coupon, but for anyone else considering Tifosi, I highly recommend Athleticshades.com. I ordered mine there...same price as my LBS, but no shipping cost and no tax. :D They also shipped the same day I ordered them! Of course, you'll want to try styles on in a shop, but then pick what you like and get them online.

I just checked and TE now sells some of the styles, too.
I bought mine from AthleticShades.com, too. My LBS is 2 hrs away, so not so convenient. I had them send me a couple of styles and sent back the ones I didn't want. ZealOptics did the same thing for me.

ohhhh I saw those too. I want some! I am really starting to look like a bag of skittles when I ride though. I have orange, yellow or blue jerseys. My roadie is Kandy mango, my MTN is green all with pink glasses??? hmmm
Are they polarized? I notice such a big difference when moving in and out of shadows. I really gotta have polarized.

Mine are not polarized, but do a fantastic job of cutting down glare.
I like the skittles imagery! LOL

I am on my second pair of Tifosi glasses. My first Quam 1.5s met their demise in the mouth of my furbaby. My second pair is the Gavia (I think) in metallic blue. I love the interchangeable lenses.
Why I love Tifosi so much: DH ran into the back of a parked truck with his Quams. He had a nasty gash on his head and a sprained wrist, but the Tifosis held up like champs. He lost one of the rubber ear pieces and I called Tifosi. After a good laugh (the story is funny) they sent out some free replacements. All that for $50!

Ummm... over here we have shops called "The $2 Shop"... and guess where I get my sunglasses.... yes they do have some UV protection, yes I can get in a range of dark lensed and light lensed...
1... I want BIG sunglasses that sit low on my cheekbones and wrap round the side - in summer it helps an incredible ammount with managing my hayfever. Cycling glasses tend to be quite narrow.
2... I'll be damned if I will spend a huge ammount on sunglasses when $2 will suffice... (though my sons both have cycling glasses with interchangeable lenses).
Guess I shop for sunnies the way I shop for shorts... the best deal that will do the job.
