Im a newbie mtb rider too and I seem to get awful dirty out there unfortunately my reason is from falling over too much.:D

Alaska --- what a beautiful place-----do you see much wildlife while mtb????

Welcome! We were a little leary a few weeks ago because a bear was spotted in the local hills. But animal control lured him with bacon and took him out of civilization and back to the woods where he belonged!
