have already hit N. TX. I have asthma which means I have to get an early start to avoid the bad times of day. I missed it today, slept in. ;)

If it's this bad this early in June I hate to think what the rest of the summer will be like. We are predicted to hit 100 by Saturday. If there's not any wind, then there will be more alerts. This could be a brutal summer for asthma suffers. Those of you who don't have the heat and ozone to deal with....Count you blessings!!

Yikes that does not sound good.
I will keep my fingers crossed and hope you get some good riding conditions soon.:)

Hi Donna:

I'm sorry to hear about your asthma -- I hear you loud & clear!

I'm not an experienced cyclist, just a beginner -- but, I've had asthma for 27 years.
What medications do you take?
I'm on Advair 250/50 twice/daily and if needed (when I'm symptomatic), I use my rescue inhalor - Ventolin, up to 12 puffs/day. <<that's only when things are wicked bad--sometimes with 5 days of prednisone!!

Right now, I'm doing well with my advair (provided I don't miss any days), and before hiking, walking, biking, I take two puffs of ventolin.
I always take the ventolin with me b/c I sometimes need more during whatever activity it is I'm doing.

I was recently put on Singulair 2 months ago, which I find extremely helpful with my asthma & allergies (both indoor & outdoor)!!

Like you, I get out there when the weather is best for me!!

Take good care!

Denise

Hi Denise,

I use Singulair and Maxair inhaler as needed. My asthma doctor tried me on Advair but it actually made things worse for me.

I only seem to have problems when it's hot like this. And around ragweed and perfumes. I have to be careful walking through department stores.

Hopefully we will get a cool down soon and some rain. We are desperate for rain!!

Hi, actually I really like cycling, but as am asthmatic, I was having breathing problems with the lack of oxygen..lack of blood circulation, and since then, I took on VENTOLIN ( you can find about it COMPLETELY on the following link):

And guess wot: it's utterly helpful. As a drug, it worked miracles for me, and I had no necessity to quit cycling. Thanks, Ventolin. And good luck you all! ;)
