This event takes place about 20 miles west of my hometown. Cyclists from my club have participated and had a great time!

Cougar Mountain is promoted by the Sea Otter folks. It's much, much smaller. The turnout for road and mountain events has been embarassingly low. I won my first mtn bike race there last year -- because I was the only woman in my field.

Now, this year will be a little different. CMC is also mountain bike national championships. However, it's the same week as road masters nationals, so lots of roadies will be off racing in PA for that event.

This will be the third year for he event. Hopefully the addition of mtn bike nationals will give it a little boost. I can't imagine with the small turnout of the past two years that they could be making any money. Each year we've predicted (incorrectly) it would be the last. Would be great to see another big successful race weekend like Sea Otter in the area.
