Shorts...again!

Okay, I know I started a short shorts/ long shorts discussion. But now I need to know, which short is not so tight at the leg gripper? I wear a large, but so far look like the Michelin Man. Size charts never list thigh girth, which is where I carry my excess baggage.

The 2006 terry t-shorts in large have a fairly loose leg gripper. I had to send some back because they were too lose on me. Definitely looser than the Shebeest. They come in multiple lengths. Longer lengths will also minimize the sausae effect.

anywho...good question! wish i had thought to ask that before ...10 shorts later...my sheebest are the loosest (i do not have terry shorts), then pearl izumis (these being my favorites), hind shorts....too tight (these are my back ups) >>those are all short lengths (4-5" inseam) louis garneaux are my long ride roadie shorts...not too tight and good chamois...
one pair of izumis has a thin chamois...not good for road but great for short fast mtb rides...the sheebest are good all around...and the hinds (thank goodness i only have one pair) are just in case i did more riding than laundry...which is not such a bad thing!!!:D

Sence we are on the subject and fbg brought it up first, I am looking for a pair of 7 to 8 long shorts with a good chamois for long trip. But I don't want to pay a fortune. Anyone?

2 friends of mine did a cross-country trip with Woman Tours, and they both recommended the PI Microsensors, but not theUltrasensors. They said the Ultra's chamois were like riding on sandpaper! Funny how they like the most expensive ones...

well... I have quite large thighs and the Canari shorts work the best for me... I run into this problem too, as I am bottom heavy and those leg grippers feel like they're choking off all circulation sometimes...:eek: I actually just went to my LBS and asked them to order me 2 more pair of the Canari's because I like them better than any others I have found yet...

Boy I am on this exact topic, too!

My cure for the sausage thing is to wear terry knickers all the time except the hottest days, they are made of dryline and are not hot at all. BUT--I have shrunk down to regular sizes and they only make them with this Ga-Gunga chamois I can't stand.

Don't know what to do. Am considering trying the new Terry elastic chamois, in the longer version.

I have these gross fat knee globs that just won't go away. : (

Try Boure knickers. They're a little longer than other knickers but have no elastic grippers at all.

i saw a lady with decent legs, not overweight, but not real muscular either.
she was wearing the castelli shorts with the red band at the bottom.
the band makes the legs look, well, michelin-like.
accentuates what MIGHT be there.
