What to look for in a bike stand? Recommendation's greatly appreciated. Looking at the Park's stand at amazon.com

We use the trainer stands, and also have an old coat rack we have put two big hooks on to hang bikes from their top tube

Although I sell the Park stand, I prefer to work on the Ultimate because of the stability of the base. The bike doesn't tip over as easily. The Park stand has an easier clamp for the seat tube once you get it set for your bike. This is especially true when you are supporting the bike with one hand and working the clamp with the other.

My suggestion is to check your local shop to see if they have one in stock that you can fiddle with before purchasing online.

I have an older Blackburn stand which doesn't seem to be on the market any more. But what I like about it is that if folds flat for storage, opens wide for stability, and has an easy 360 degree rotation mechanism for working on the bike at any angle. The rotation is especially important for working on headsets. The clamping mechanism contains rubber pieces for holding the frame, and unfortunately the rubber has gotten old and no longer holds the frame as firmly as it should.
