Date should be 5/27

Yesterday's ride was fun. I rode hard to the Junction, working on keeping my cadence up above 80. And as Jo noted, I rode back and forth a few times. :D

I am so glad I was ahead of the group and did not see what my insane husband was trying to do. But he did get some nice pictures on the descent.

Is that sunshine?!?! Is that blue sky!?!?!

Oh, be still my heart...

Looks like a great fun time. How did he take those pics without falling over?

#5 - notice who is doing the work and who is doing the socializing. :D

MP, is that tandem team capable of the 3 Bears? BikerZ is licensed to organize a 3 Bears ride (which I've never done).

Heck! He can even take pictures with a broken arm! Remember this (http://www.tandemhearts.com/bike/placerville/index.html)set? All taken one handed. He is quite a Mr Incredible!

I think my new pink helmet is more attractive. :D

And honk the horn at the same time. Oh, yeah, that wasn't on purpose.:p

Ed and I were talking about that just yesterday.

SK, maybe I missed it but I keep hearing about your random stranger Amici Veloci recruiting? What's the scoop?

My helmet does kinda go with that jacket... even with the orange wind blocker stuff. Hmmm... maybe I should be a fashion designer... :D

Me neither. I'm still recovering....from the recovery ride.

One question about the Bears, is there anywhere to eat nearby?

The only place I know of to eat near the 3 Bears is my friend Nicole's house! But if organzing a ride doesn't permit crashing her place, we could meet and start at Orinda Bart (there are plenty of places to eat there). We would just head out San Pablo Dam Road (a.k.a. the damn road - final "n" optional, depending on the head wind) - it just adds a few extra miles on. It still might be too short a ride for some of you climbing/distance maniacs.

I feel obligated to organize something like this, having been officially ordained by SK (ride organizer extraordinaire!)

BTW - I am IN AWE of Thom's bike/camera wrangling skills! And Jobob's for that matter!

Wow - amazing photos!!! Thanks for sharing those - and more kudos to Thom for taking them while descending a mountain!

"The blondes!" Ha!! I just wish my hair were as blonde as my shorter version... Oh well.

MP, so where is petitepois' journal on bikejournal? I'm sure she has a lot to say about the ride.

bikerz, the "climbing/distance maniacs" could always do an extra loop....while the rest of us eat  JK.

since we never got the "intro to East Bay Hills Spazzdog-o-matic progressive ride series" going and since I obviously need work....moderate ride with a hill climbing goat option sounds good.

How did Thom take those photos? I'm picturing him riding downhill no-handed, twisted around backwards like those moto photographers at a race. He truly is gifted.

BikerZ, you can include a Pinehurst climb, ala the Grizzly Peak Century, to make the route about 50 miles, and ... hmmm, maybe 3 or 4 thousand feet of climbing. If not Pinehurst, then maybe Wildcat Canyon? I think CindySue may know some good routes that include the Bears.

He has interrupter brake levers on his handlebars, so he had his left hand on the flat part of the bar with the brake and his right hand on my new camera.

There is a cafe if you turn right on San Pablo Road and go into El Sobrante. It's on the right side of the road. Pretty good place to eat. Veronic and I ate there when we did the Bears a few months ago.
