"... I don't like it when someone calls me an extraterrestrial."

Said by the very pretty in pink Ivan Basso regarding a comment made by Gilberto Simoni.

You know, he's just TOO pretty. He's like an ad for something - cologne. I am not complaining, but I prefer something in the Cippollini line.

On him, pink looks good.

commuter bicyclists' quote:
"When you choose to paddle in the backwaters, people don't get too bent out of shape when you pull to shore from time to time." -Stuart McLean

Ride to work, get a coffee on the way!

I'm glad to see this because when I saw the finish of yesterday's stage I thought "I wish the TE girls/women/personnes could see this"
Brilliant riding yesterday. And wonderful countryside (mountains, snow, pretty villages).
Did anyone else see Paolo Savoldelli's descent of the Mortirolo?

Not that pink isn't good. And no, I didn't see Paolo's descent, but that would be scary in any event...

Since we seem to have drifted I will add my $0.02...
Alessandro Petacchi (of the broken knee-cap on Day 3 of the Giro; so he won't even be in the Tour this year)

Personally, though the guy in white is handsome, I think he looks too full of himself to be my "dream man". So just to expand our horizons, and not least for those with other esthetic preferences, as in say ... mtb? ... there's this rider:

His (the guy in white) sunglasses are really neat. Does anyone recognize the brand?

oh my.

edited because you have to add more so from me that's quite a compliment, not gonna happen but...almost enough to make me think of changing teams. ;) off I go for a bike ride.

I wish I could find the video of Cipo - I don't even remember which race. He's tearing along, sees a pretty girl by the roadside. Stops, gets off his bike, plants a BIG kiss on her (the bend at the waist kind), gets back on the bike and rejoins the race.... :D

At the risk of being altogether too clever...
I think gender is irrelevant when it comes to biking/bikers
Perhaps we are a gender unto ourselves (like clergy, teachers and choirboys)

ps what do you mean horizon...I don't even accept *that* limit

Other sports occasionally offer some "eye candy" too. Check out this javeline thrower ;) (but be quick before they change the front page story). http://www.dagbladet.no/

I'm so happy he won. Yep. World's best throw so far this year.

BTW, just noticed your ... whatever. Byline? "Save Ferris". Is there a Ferris wheel threatened with destruction in Chicago? I just read "The White City" and learned that it was invented for the exhibition there just over a century ago.

Not that deep. Think Ferris Bueller's Day off:

http://home.xnet.com/~madman/fbdo/images/fbdo2.jpg

I named my Lemond "Ferris" and my Trek "Cameron"

You'd think I love that movie or something. It's the epitome of chicago movie, next to the Blues Brothers anyway. :D
