I gotta tell ya, it is fabulous in person... just fabulous. After I got my bike I discovered this lbs and spent a week or so second guessing myself!

I haven't seen this.
I haven't seen this.
I haven't seen this.
I truly haven't seen this.
Was there anything to see that I could lust after?
No, I haven't seen anything...

Thanks for posting. I have to decide paint color(s) for my Luna 'cross bike that Margo is building for me now, so that Trek's paint job is giving me some ideas.
I already have a pink Eclipse but I'm thinking I might want some pink on the 'cross bike.

If you look hard, you will probably see a few black crow feathers sticking out of the corners of my mouth...
I never thought I'd lust after a bike with so much pink, but that is a beautiful paint scheme.
Nice job, and enjoy your new baby!

unfortunately, she's not mine :( I wish I had seen her before I bought my bike... although this is a madone 5.2 and I'd probably choose a pilot 5.2...
I still lust after this bike every time I see her!

That almost makes me wish I was a pink-loving girly-girl road biker. :p ;) :D

Pretty paint, although not much of a pink fan myself. I like the white lettering.

I would have gotten the pilot 2.1 wsd if it had this paint job - it is much better than the black with pink writing.

It's beautiful! The saddle and handle bar tape I am lusting after would match it perfectly! I am drooling now.....
Jessica :p
I recognize my LBS in this picture! I have seen this bike in their shop and although I am not a "pink" person, I find myself checking out this bike whenever I see it. I've also had lots of fun with the Project One section of the Trek website-- I just got my bike last fall and won't be upgrading any time soon, but it is fun to play around with the design options!

Did you girls notice (if a saw correctly in the "Giro De Italia"), the CSC Team all had pink handlebar tape. Maybe because the leader wears a pink jersey in Italy as opposed to yellow in the Tour de France.

Tehj!
Yup, you probably know it well! Did you see the grey/blue one too? I see that you are pretty new the board, do you get out and road ride at all?

oh my! i'm not a fan of pink road bikes... but that is gorgeous!!!!!!!!!
Tracy-- I do have a road bike (got it late last fall) but my riding lately has been hit or miss so I don't have much of a mileage base (the bike has about 500 miles on it now) but I am working on it. I ride mostly along the coast between Camp Pendleton and San Clemente (through San Onofre) or on the Oceanside San Luis River bike trail. I am new to the west coast and not yet comfortable exploring "real roads" on my own.
The guys at that bike shop are great-- they did a great job fitting my bike and helping me with further adjustments even though I did not purchase the bike at their shop.
Terri
p.s. Yep-- I saw the grey/blue one too! I love that dot design!

Caligurl,
I am not normally a "pink" kind of gal but I have to go touch that bike every time I go in there, there is just something about that darned bike! They are really starting to give me a hard time - especially now that I had to take it down and get pictures!
I still like my black bike the best!

Terri,
When do you ride? I'm pretty new too (I took about 8 years off) and have been riding the wine country loop in Temecula and have also done a couple of rides in the rainbow/fallbrook area. I don't know about the Oceanside San Luis bike trail, where is that?
We are starting to organize some rides for those of us in SoCal so please come and ride. I would also be interested in riding with you if you are looking for a riding partner once in a while! I've been riding by myself most of the time and really want to start riding with others more often.
Tracy
At first I was really turned off about the black Pilot 2.1 because of its pink lettering, so I said, "No way!" Well, I rode it, and it's now in my bedroom. The pink doesn't really jump out, and I LOVE the wheels! I'm a happy camper.

kjay,
do you have pictures????? We wanna see!!! After I bought my bike and saw this pink one I actually did consider (for a second only) changing my mind and ordering a Project One Pilot! I've been very happy with my bike though so I did the right thing! ;)
Tracy :D
Tracy, here's my Trek Pilot 2.1 (and my camel). :D I am a bit confused, though, about which bike you have. Had I been able to get anything I wanted, I would have gotten a Project One for sure . . . orange, pink, and yellow. I hope the photo shows up, as I've not included one before.

Oh my----I love the look of that pink and white bike
If I sat on it and it felt and fit as good as it looks I would have to just rationalize buying it. I felt like that when I bought my first road bike just 3 weeks ago--I bought the black and pink (and I love it) Pilot 2.1 WSD I rides like a dream. Is this Project One a "Pilot-WSD" style or is the Project One a "Madone"?
I was previously riding a hybid/comfort bike so the difference in riding my Pilot 2.1 makes me now "Laugh at the base of hills"
Thanks for the Pic.

kjay,
I think your bike is beautiful! I hope you have a pink jersey to go with it!!! I ended up going with the specialized roubaix as it was a better fit for me and I was able to get last year's model which made it less expensive. The pink polka dot Trek is a Madone 5.2 WSD 54cm triple. If I had gone with the trek I probably would have gone with a Pilot 5.2 in a red/orange combo (I've spent too much time on the project one site!) w/the polka dots. However, the bike I have is so far above my ability that it'll be a long time before I need another - and the roubaix is basically for the same purpose as the pilot, sort of a honda/toyota comparison!
Bikechick B - sounds like you and kjay have the same bike??? Its amazing how nice the new bikes are these days, every time I come home from a ride I tell my DH how much I love my bike! Of course he says "You'd better!" :p but I really do appreciate how it rides as I'm sure you are appreciating your new bike!
Tracy
ps. all that said, I still love the pink bike! ;)
Tracy-- I'd love to ride with you sometime. I'll PM you so I don't hijack your original thread! Thanks.

ahh... that is a beauty... I LOVE the Project One bikes... and really, really wanted one but alas, they just didn't fit me... the one I wanted is called "Southern Comfort"... the black one with orange and gold flames... but they have SO many great paint options in the line... and this one you posted is gorgeous...

I have a pink headset spacer from Chris King that is a breast cancer awareness thing. A few of those would look really cute on your baby!
I got it thru excelsports.com
