Just a quick thank you to SK for her post about the banana bag awhile back. I just got one and it is wonderful. Looks good, too. Not too big, not too small, just right!! I previously used a medium Timbuk2 saddle bag and it wasn't big enough for all my roadside repair stuff.

Sure but, truthfully, the thanks should go to our Rivendell nuts, Jo and V.

A closeup.

Will hold a jacket, 4 packs of Cliff Shot gels, 2 Paydays large size, a cap, long fingered gloves, a balaclava and a frozen Red Bull. And still have room to spare.

And a partridge in a pear tree? :p

I got the candy bar bag and am planning to use it at LRRH.

I almost ordered that, too, but they were out of stock (must have been Divine Intervention, keeping me from going nuts w/the bag purchases). I'll have to keep checking back. How much can you fit in it? Does it affect your steering or bike handling in any way?

I have a candy bar bag on my bars on the tandem. It tends to sway a lot. Doesn't bother me on the tandem, but would drive me nuts on my single. You can attach them at the side, but I've never seen a very attractive solution to that.

I have the Giles Berthould small seat on the front. It's ten dollars less than the candy bar bag and a little bit smaller. But I think is more elegant. It will hold a surprising amount. Tube, tool kit, micro leatherman, two large Paydays, my wallet, spare contacts, two Hammer Gel packets, two sport bean packs and a pack of Cliff shots. And there was a little bit of room left over.

That's the stuff I carried on last week's double.
