For those of you who wondered about my avatar--nope, not my dachshund, but a wonderful image snapdragen found for me. Here are pictures of my beloved Schatzi, our dachshund who lived to be 19. She was my friend since I was 7 years old. If my mom has pictures of her as a younger doggie, I'll post those, too. You also get to see Orphan Annie, our English Setter, a true maniac. She came to us when Schatzi was 9 years old, and probably added 5 years to her life.

Thanks!

The guys are our LBS are babysitting the owner's SIL's dachshund puppy, "Bear." I think he weighs 3 lbs, maybe. They have him in a pen in the corner. He doesn't even get out of bed to greet anyone. He just rolls over for his tummy to be rubbed and then get picked up. No callouses on his feet if he weren't walked down to the Hotdogger for lunch every day. Life's tough.

Love that tug 'o war shot! My goldens love to mix it up like that all that time, too. Happiness is a warm puppy, indeed!!

Lise, thanks for sharing....dogs are the best.
I'm sure you've heard the saying, "my goal in life is to become as wonderful as my dog thinks I am". :) I think short of a Mother's love for her children, there is no finer example of unconditional love than what a dog displays for it's owner.
