Hi Girls, really hope you can help.

My club is in the process of re-vamping the club kit following some changes to out sponsors, but the whole thing is turning into a major headache, as no one can decide on a design.

We’ll agree to one thing, only to have that totally turned round in the next meeting and have to start all over again. We can’t even decide what aspects of the current design to keep and what to ditch and we're just going round in circles.

So, has anyone got any advice or experience in this sort of thing. So far we’ve discussed it as a committee of 8, then a small group of 4 went off to try and finalise some designs, but it 's going nowhere fast.

How on earth do you get everyone to agree – or if not agree at least be reasonably happy? The time is getting on and we want the new stuff ready for January but at this rate we’ll still be sitting around talking about it!

Hi, MM,

This is a tough one! How to get people to agree? Yikes! All I can think of is to set a definite deadline, a date that you MUST make a decision. Maybe that will force people to quit wavering.

Could you start by deciding what colors you want to use? Then maybe moving onto a design? Or at least find two final choices and then take a vote between them?

Good luck! I know what you are going through. My club did this a few years back and it took quite a long time to agree on what to do. We finally did and everyone ended up pleased. Now we are beginning to think it's time to do another idea.

Keep us posted on how it goes.........

One of the reasons I left design after 12 years in the field is "design by commitee" 8-)

Whoever is doing the design should work with 1 to at most 3 people. As a designer I refused to work for more than one person. That person can get feedback from infinite numbers of others others but I answered to only them.

Otherwise everyone wants THEIR favorite color, THEIR favorite typeface, THEIR favorite jersey, each sponsor wants THEIR logo bigger and on top...

Decide who's most qualified to manage the project and eveyone else get out of the room and go ride their bike 8-)

Thanks for the tips guys.

Good advice - otherwise i'm sure we'll just end up with a big mess! :p

My boyfreind and I are going to the designer next week and got some rough ideas from people. Luckily, the colours aren't changing , so I think we'll get the design guy to maybe come up with 3 designs. We'll then take them back to the rest of the club so they can vote on their favourites.

I'm the only girl in my club and don't know if it's just my imagination, but I'm sure if we were a bunch of girlies making the decisions it would be a bit more organised :D .

Thanks again - I'll keep you posted:p

yep, and it'd be a much more fabulous design ;-)

Do we get to see the winner?

Most certainly:) Once the designs have been drawn up I'll post then. Hopefully it'll be some time next week.
