Hi guys- logged in today and noticed we are in sixth place on bike journal (that is asking it to count both indoor and outdoor miles, you can set how you want it displayed). Thanks to all who are participating. FYI, you can associate yourself with any many teams as you want, but each ride you make can only be credited to a single team. I totally understand folks that want to credit the teams they actually ride with, but I was using a virtual team before anyway so I had no problem switching my miles to TE (although I did cringe a bit when we passed my old team, sigh.....). But its all in good fun. I like the girl power aspect of this team. But, we have a LOT of riding to do to move into fifth place............... Since this is also doing some free advertising for TE, maybe they might think of encouraging participation by offering prizes, updating the club home page on TE, maybe offering us club discounts, etc.. For example, I was part of the Bike Friday club last year, and BF had a drawing for free prizes (ranged from a bike rack down to socks) for folks that logged an excess of 2000 miles. -e

Woohoo!
6th place
I didn't know you could look at an indoor/outdoor total
I still have to finish entering mine - my warmup/cooldown times aren't in yet
Also my distances for some of my indoor rides...
Plus of course my riding for the week - race tomorrow... hills though - gah!

I added my 22 miles from last night and will be doing 64 tomorrow. Not enough to catch up to the people above us, but it will be more than the running two days did for us!

ooh, sneeky, you mean we can "recruit miles" from other teams? I just added mine from my training journal. One thing is we have about half the number of riders that the number one team on BJ does.

you sign up on bikejournal.com
you can add rides to your journal and track your mileage as well as add a team to whom the miles are added! :)

Mimi, are you logging your miles on bikejournal already? I couldn't find you but I know you're a member. Sign in and click on clubs/manage my clubs at the top. Then click on the "join club" button.
At this point in time, your miles can only be accredited to one club. If you are a member of a club and want to transfer your miles, you can move all the miles at once by clicking on the same clubs/manage my clubs.

Whoops! Don't click on "add club." Click on the "manage my clubs" and then "jon club". You'll get a drop down list of clubs which have already been created. Sorry.
Yes, Team Estrogen.

Mimi: under your profile there should be a place to "add" miles for 2006.......
(I'm not SK but I'll play "pretend" :D )

now i'm feeling really really dumb. I am not finding a miles adding place i can
manage bikes, manage rides (like the STP) i can even update my lifetime odometer. But i don't see an add miles.
do you have to get premier membership to do this?

Its under JOURNAL at the top - the drop down has an "add ride" category.

I saw that. I can add a ride, but it doesn't include miles. there's no place for miles on there.

Add Ride
Ride Date:
Ride Time (hh:mm:ss): : : cursor will now auto-tab between values
Max Speed (mph):
Average Speed (mph): calculate avg speed
Distance (miles): bulk entry
Mimi:...ooops...sorry had you in the wrong place. See above.....you go under journal, add a ride and then add your miles and click the "bulk entry" button. That'll give you the miles you've ridden for 2006.
Oops...go under "configure" and make sure you have distance as one of your journal options

On the blue menu bar across the top, click on journal.
Then, click on add ride from the drop down list.
Do not click on rides on the blue menu bar. That function is to add an event like an organized century. I know it is confusing.

Right - but she has to configure her journal so mileage is an option.
That's under "CONFIGURE" under the "JOURNAL" drop down.

Right - but she has to configure her journal so mileage is an option.Oh yeah. It would be nice to have a "quick start manual" for first time BJ'ers. Slantz' FAQ's are just that: questions but no answers. Oh well, the rest of the site is pretty cool.
